Polestar 2 EV Debuts With Estimated 275-Mile Range

Not sure they explictly commited to the $45,000 sticker price for the long range. They presented the long-range vehicule with a $69,000, and a performance version for $75,000. The $45,00 will most likely be a mid-range but who knows how many miles it will have.

    Software Update 2018.36.2

I had a mobile service technician yesterday who forces this 2018.36.2 to be installed on my P90D MX AP2.0. He said this release includes a lot of Wifi and LTE connections issues fixes for all MCUs.

    Chill Mode: big downside

Sorry. This is not correct. The upgrade changed the driving parameters including setting regen to low. You can have chill and standard regen.

    Chill Mode: big downside

I guess I should have read the release notes. At first, I did not get why CHILL was displayed above the speed limit. In fact, the Chill mode also limit the regen. Significantly (like when the battery is cold) So CICO Chill Out Chill In Now you know.

    Learn every day (traffic impact)

Absolutely agree. That’s why I mention the outside temperature. I start being extra careful when rate at destination is estimated around 25%. I make sure I know where to charge 50 miles from destination in any case, especially winter.

    Learn every day (traffic impact)

I was going for 75 miles ride on Thursday morning. Estimates were for 1h24 to get there (as per iMap) with 55% remaining charge (as per Tesla Nav). Took 2h45 minutes. I arrived with 55% remaining charge. Outside temperature was around 70F. Never realized the benefit of EV in high...

    AP2 Autosteer: What's your feedback?

Just used Autosteer on a local road where the previous major update was going in panic (canceling auto steer with big red sign and loud sound). This time auto steer kept going, did not ask me to take control. Was it good? Yes. Was it great? No. Just after the core of the curve (this specific...

    AP2 AutoSteer swerviness...??

Mild jerks seem to be due to the software rigidity to keep the car right in the middle of the lane, versus a human driver that will go to the interior limit of the curve at the center point of the curve, in one stable arc of driving.

    Software Update 17.17.4

Right now, a motorbike is detected if standing or running in the same lane, but a bike aka bicycle is not detected no matter where it is when the car is running.

    AP2 Autosteer: What's your feedback?

Curious about other owners' opinion for Autosteer in City environment. What do you think is the widest gap between now and autonomous driving? How does AP1 vehicles handle city surroundings in Autosteer? I have a Model X with AP and 17.9.3 firmware. IMHO, Autosteer is far from ready in AP2...

MX HW2 detects overpasses as a car and hard breaks

Very similar experience. On both DC to Princeton, NJ, and Princeton, NJ to Groton, CT drives. When in rain and traffic (on the way down) I did not notice it. On way up (summy and no traffic) happened several times in the speed two lanes sections between DC and Baltimore. I was always ready to...

    Detailer or Tesla SC

I discover this morning this mark on the passenger door. Front view: Upper View: It does seem like a mark over the paint. No bump, no deep scratch. Should I bring the car to a detailer or to Tesla SC? What's your opinion? Thank you in advance.

    EZ Pass location

During my 165 miles each way roundtrip, I placed it at the top of the windshield on the passenger side. Works all the time. It's the big rectangular one. Not tried with the half sized one.

    Tesla Model X Moments

Today I brought Aoi Tsubasa (Blue Falcon in Japanese) to this new top end car wash. I know for the swirls but it was freezing temperatures, and too much salt on the car to keep it like this. So I get there select the ultimate wash and valet. AFter the mechanical wash, I drive the car to the line...

Terrible delivery experience: what to do next?

We had the same issue with the driver window seal. The DS they tried to put it back in. My wife, who has nice small fingers, put it back. It has not move since then. Best of luck for your decision to take or not the vehicle.

    Model X Winter Driving Experience

We do not have the cold package. We just had our first significant snow. My wife drove the X and complained about the buildup. So without a cold package, what are the recommendations to avoid ice/snow buildup on the baldes? 1) windshield defroster on high 2) climate on auto Then what else...

    Tesla Model X Moments

On Wednesday, I drove my son to his karate class. First time ever with the Tesla Model X. We parked in an empty row of parking spots, and I was walking our usual path (may be 10 feet away from the car). My son had not yet exited the car. A car was coming out of that parking zone. I turn back...

Trouble with Fob Linked Driver Profile

Same problem here. I set my profile at the delivery and connect with the FOB (was also supposedly Fob 2). Then when home, while my fob was away, we set my wife's profile and linked it to the fob she had (was also shown as Fob 2). Worked fine until I show up with my FOB and the car went into my...

AP2 HW and Road Signs (how to report a mis-read?)

Sorry if this has been already discussed. Less than a week ago, I took delivery of a MXP90D with AP2 HW. So far, the only logical conclusion I came up with for the road signs is that the car reads from a databse, not from the posted signs on the road. Two examples: - A section of the road is...

    Model X Perfect Delivery

Apart from a mis-alignment on the driver side, chrome curved line at the back of the car, everything was perfect on my Model X P90D, even though the car was delivered to the SC on the same morning.

    Wiki Model X FAQ (wiki)

If I already set the cruise control (say 65 MPH), then brake. The cruise control becomes inactive. If, now, while it has already been set and inactive, I want to set it to another speed (say 45MPH) because I'm in a different situation, How can I do that? Every time I pull the lever to me, the...

Worst built car ever (my model X)

So I just put a deposit for a 3 years lease on a Model X, and I'm in the 7 days when I can withdraw the application. I selected a P90D. So should I expect getting issues over issues even if delivery will be at best Mid-December, or should I take the quality issues lighter since it's a lease and...
