    2024.14.9 downloading now.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I get updates really early as you do, mine is a heat pump car but I think more importantly it's got FSD I think.

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Same with Spotify, cached playlists, even if it's via the USB storage would be great.

How many people are having connectivity issues?

I've posted previously in the thread, it was an update. I've been on the other side, had an ID.3 and the software on that was just fine, Android Auto worked well despite it starting off as a bag of crap. Edit: for some reason I can't edit my update post to remove any confusion.

How many people are having connectivity issues?

I did, the car was in for DC charging and connectivity, DC charging fixed but connectivity I was told to install firmware, presumably OTA updates when they're offered.l, they checked the hardware and nothing wrong. And the connectivity problems have been quite bad for a fair few people since...

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Yes I was, the car was in for warranty work on the DC charging circuit, which failed, and the connectivity problems. Are you suggesting I shouldn't complain about a paid for service being a bit crap? This is the connectivity thread, so I updated it with info right from the horse's mouth.

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Eh, what's class leading, the connectivity certainly isn't.
  8. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Car has now been in for warranty repair on the DC current sensing circuit and as expected they reported hardware fine on the connectivity side and to install all firmware updates as it's a known problem. Not quite sure why it's taken 6 months so far for a firmware fix...

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Yes, though I'd say it's more pronounced and stretches further towards my car. As I said, it's certainly an improvement but not as good as other offerings, I wouldn't be saying anything if I hadn't come from an ID.3.
  10. R

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Not sure. It may be programming but as you said the competition use thousands of individual LEDs in their lights, the old IQ Lights on VW ID cars that I had used 3,000, the newer cars use tens of thousands I think.
  11. R

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

No, I've had matrix lights before in my old ID.3 on which the lights ended pretty much at the bumper of the car in front, mine gives me a dark V behind the car for quite some way. Certainly better than the normal lights, just not as good as competitor's offerings. Hopefully we will see some...

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

Speed and handling for the price is pretty decent, if you need the Supercharger network then that's still a definite positive, at least in the UK. Otherwise, people will now choose cars for the myriad reasons they used to now there's choice.

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

😁 The video shows the driver taking over at the last minute and swerving off the road to avoid the train, took out the crossing signals I think. They saved their own life. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna153345 Here you go, you can rest easy 😁

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

Musk has put himself front and centre as the face of Tesla so it's not surprising he affects people's opinions on the brand given his activity on X. LiDAR is a perfectly reasonable expectation of Driver Assistance systems, and it's Musk, apparently, who wants to rely solely on Vision. There's...

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

The tweak to the adaptive lights is welcome, will be interesting to see if it gets rid of the dark patch directly in front of you when you're following someone. One thing that I though had been fixed is the washers on the wipers, they only work when the wipers start and don't continue...

Tesla app to set up service is IDIOTIC - change my mind

As I live between 3 service centres, all 45mins to an hour away, I'd rather it show me the available slots first, then I can maybe get a sooner service if I chose to go to one of the other sites.
  19. R

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I think A Better Route Planner had a link in to your ID.3 App, and the state of charge when I owned mine a year ago. There's no reason there can't be APIs setup in the car to pass that information across, and theres not a particular reason for information to pass the other way, such as route...

    Supercharger team sacked?

I've not seen anything like that, your general incompetence and politicking yup, not whole departments fired in anger. I know the type of people running big companies often lack empathy but this is 500 people just out on their ear, maybe not being able to pay rent or mortgages, families being...

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

Parting out the drivetrain should be easily worth £5-10k I would have thought, for conversions and stationary storage projects. With EVs there really shouldn't be £500 beaters, at least for the next decade or so I would imagine, while batteries are still fairly expensive.
  22. R

    Supercharger team sacked?

Someone who is the CEO of a large company such as Tesla can't get angry and act out, we're not talking about a child here learning boundaries. I've not seen it reported elsewhere yet so not sure it's even a thing.
  23. R

    Supercharger team sacked?

If that's happened it just makes Musk look incredibly weak.

    DC Charging Unavailable

I really don't want to risk it really, may aswell stick to AC given I can.
  25. R

    DC Charging Unavailable

So a couple of weeks to get parts, I will see if I get any notification to book the appointment otherwise I may go on holiday next week as I can rely on AC since the each way trip is only 150 miles.
  26. R

    DC Charging Unavailable

As far as I know I never received the notification in the car, it came up when the app did the diagnostic check when I was submitting my service request about bad connectivity. The remote diagnosis has been done and it's been diagnosed as the current sensing circuit so will be in for service...
  27. R

    DC Charging Unavailable

As more cars come out of warranty, and get a bit older, we will see what the common failure points are. Timing, as always, is crap as I was going away next week, that won't happen right now.
  28. R

    DC Charging Unavailable

Parts need to be ordered, great.
  29. R

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Given my DC charging unavailable came up on the same day my update happened I wonder if it's borking something serious.
  30. R

    DC Charging Unavailable

My car has now reported DC charging unavailable, I was actually unaware and hadn't noticed any warning, it came up when I opened a service request for my poor connectivity. Repair has been approved under warranty but the App won't let me schedule the service, comes up with Connection Failed...
  31. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Well the remote diagnostics have been done and the car is going in for both the DC charging problem, it's the HV sensing circuit apparently which needs changing and multiple problems have been found with the connectivity, maybe requiring an antenna but they'll diagnose further at the service...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I noticed while sat in traffic a car came alongside and it first displayed as a car, then switched to an SUV, does a reasonable job but isn't something I want to see. I think it's more of a sales tool with the continued promise of Robotaxi, especially outside of the US.
  33. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I've just mentioned in the connectivity thread that when I requested a service via the App it told the car was unable to DC Fast charge, with the date of the 14th May which is when I did the update I think. Can anyone else who have had the update pop in the app and start the request a service...
  34. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

I just put in a service request and was surprised that there was an unable to DC fast charge take to service centre warning, don't remember seeing anything pop up for that, it's dated 14th May which is when I did the update to 2024.14.6 I think.
  35. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

It's trying to get away from the just replace the whole thing mentality, that's excellent for a manufacturer but leads to stupid bills for customers. I think even Sandy Munro has made mention that the new resin filled packs are basically unrepairable, that the pack is warranted for 8 years is...
  36. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Yep, as @yessuz says in this thread, presumably someone who may work in the mobile industry.
  37. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

But you can't just swap out a single module, or even cell anymore. That's terrible for repairability, and the customer. I'd rather have a battery that can be repaired than the weight saving from a structural battery.
  38. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

Mine's an Intel Atom car, I thought it had been narrowed down to the way the eSIM hope between masts, on the specific frequency it uses.
  39. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

I used to use YouTube Music on Android Auto via my Phone's connection, it allowed you to have offline playlists for times when you lost connectivity. Would be good if Spotify could do the same with the USB drive.
  40. R

How many people are having connectivity issues?

    Agreed, was terrible yesterday.
  41. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

It gives you warning about 100m from the camera as you approach, it's not remotely challenging, others manage perfectly well. Google even manages to warn you about mobile vans!
  42. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I thought it used to have more end of last year, when I bought it, but don't pay much attention. There's certainly lots more now. I would rather have the map full screen or maybe a tile for Spotify/Audible perhaps, something actually useful for the driver.
  43. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Just been out and the speed camera bong works only on Nav, gives plenty of time. You do have to wonder why it can't just work all the time, like others. Bigger speedo is the only win. Edit, add to that Audible, haven't tried it yet.
  44. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I'll get a chance to test it on Navigation later this afternoon, and can try it on the way home without Nav.
  45. R

    [UK] 2024.14.x

There is now an option for speed camera chimes, not had a chance to test it, not sure why it would only be on navigated routes. Bigger speed display is good, best bit probably, way more visualisations as it actually now shows pretty much all the vehicles.

Mine too, 71 plate M3LR with FSD, will see what changes tomorrow.

    UK FSD Discussion

It really wouldn't be difficult to overlay g-force limits, this has already been done by competitors obviously. The limits set by UNECE aren't altogether unreasonable, I've let my old car do corners and it's not overly slow. Autonomy should be cautious, it shouldn't be able to exceed speed...
  48. R

    UK FSD Discussion

Sorry, but I don't really follow why it's remotely challenging to follow the UNECE imposed limits, FSD must have similar to get the car around a corner safely, they're just slightly more conservative values. At some point both systems must use mapped data to determine the turn radius of each...
  49. R

    UK FSD Discussion

So my understanding was right. I let my ID.3 manage the speed around some right corners, those with an advisory speed limit, and it stuck to the advisory limit fairly closely. My M3 will just happily let go mid corner, my ID.3 never did that, it just slowed a 'little' more than I would have...

    UK FSD Discussion

Have to say this baffles me too, is the main restriction, other than ensuring the driver is paying attention, is the g-force around corners? If that's the case then VW managed that with their predict ahead on my ID.3 years ago. It slowed me down for corners and also roundabouts and junctions.
