    Rear trunk corrosion

Great to hear you're getting a new Trunk (boot) lid, good the Tesla agreed to that. I'm keeping a regular eye on the 'second attempt' paint work that my local Tesla SC carried out to my Model 3. If it bubbles up again I will also be demanding a new trunk lid.

That looks pretty impressive. Nice job.

    Rally Armor Mud Flaps

I didn't fit Rally Armor but I did fit these Vugosson front and rear mudflaps and found them to be excellent.

Also for me the underside the front, where it meets the rear window.

    Rear trunk corrosion

Likewise I've just replied in your thread. I hope you get it sorted out to your satisfaction which to my mind (given the reoccurrence regularity) should be a new trunk lid.

Rust and Paint Bubbling on Trunk

Sorry to hear you are suffering the same ongoing situation. They really should replace your truck lid in it's entirety. This corrosion issue around the trunk inside seam must be a reasonably regular issue as I have now seen a few like examples (including yours) online. The day my car was in...

Model Y Side window issue/ not sitting correctly

It could be that the Y behaves the same as the Model 3 in cold weather. The windows will drop slightly when the car is closed (locked) to alleviate the possibility of damage from the window seizing/freezing in the uppermost position. From the Model 3 manual; "In cold temperatures, Model 3...

    So how is it? :)

    Rear trunk corrosion

Good to hear you're happy with the repair. Mine came back from Reading Tesla yesterday having been 'reworked', it looks like they have done also done a good job this time but time will tell.
  13. Greytop

    Rear trunk corrosion

Possibly but my theory is that it's moisture hanging around in that area (front lip of boot lid) courtesy of the rubberised drip tray with the holes in it. The holes are not actually large enough for the water drain away fully in some areas. This means water is just sat that there in a trough up...

    Rear trunk corrosion

While mine was in for the original warranty work there was another guy with a midnight silver model 3 18 months old having exactly the same work done on his.

    Rear trunk corrosion

    Exactly, absolutely top notch

    Rear trunk corrosion

Just a quick heads up. My warranty repair paintwork on the underside of the boot lid has started bubbling, I noticed the beginnings two or three weeks ago which was approximately five weeks after the warranty work had taken place. Current mind state - 'fuming'!! Another service request submitted.

    Rear trunk corrosion

No problem. Fingers crossed the warranty respray work will stand the test of time. I hope you get your's sorted out swiftly👍 Incidentally, while mine was in for the warranty work there was another guy with a midnight silver model 3 18 months old having exactly the same work done on his. I think...

    Rear trunk corrosion

I've had the same problem and mine is an early September 23 car. Not impressed as you can imagine. The local service centre removed the boot lid and had the underside stripped back and resprayed. Images below show the underside of the boot lid prior to the warranty work.

    Plate Changeout - How?

It looks like 3M 4941P should do equally well. I've used 3M VHB 5952 because I've had really good results in other applications so I'm pretty confident it will go the distance with these plates - even with the curved front one.
  20. Greytop

    Plate Changeout - How?

I've done the same with 3M VHB 5952 Adhesive Tape except I bonded the rear plate to the backing plate (as well as the front).

Rattle at rear passenger side Bolster area

Sorry to hear it's not fully sorted. Do you know what the service centre did to try and stop it? I know what you mean - 'waiting for an internal panel or trim to pop off' :)
  22. Greytop

Rattle at rear passenger side Bolster area

Did you manage to resolve it yessuz? I'm pretty sure I have the same issue but on the opposite side (offside, right hand drive car). I have to admit that I'm quite surprised that Tesla ownership has come down to earth with a bump in a very short period of time. The car is generally very nice...

    Dashboard speaker grill distorted.

No pics at the moment, I'll take some when I get the car back from the service centre. With mine it looks more like the whole moulding is slightly distorted, so rather than flat all the way across it goes up on down.
  24. Greytop

    Dashboard speaker grill distorted.

Our new Model 3 is currently in the local service centre having boot lid paintwork sorted out. While driving the 2019 loaner (we have) I've noticed that the dashboard speaker grill is nice and flat whilst our new car's has a somewhat uneven undulating look. Has anybody else noticed this with...

No that is it as far as I know, oh and the dual motor badge on the boot.

Make sure you check that car over thoroughly though. I have only just spotted today that paint is bubbling along the inside edge (underneath) of the rear boot seam. Not impressed with that and have contacted service. If I had spotted it on pick up would have rejected the car.

Rust and Paint Bubbling on Trunk

Looks like I have a similar issue with my new Model 3. Wiping down the car this morning after some rain I noticed the paint bubbling next to the front seam of the trunk/boot lid. The car was only picked up 4th September. If this paint quality is representative of the whole car it doesn't fill me...

To be honest I've not really fully emersed myself in the audio of the new car yet :) I guess there is always the upgrade route if it feels subpar.

I'm quite impressed with it. Of course it's not as quick as a dual motor long range (which I initially demo'd) but still plenty quick enough. Handling was a pleasant surprise in that it's good and I like the steering being relatively direct. Ride quality is OK but not a match for my old F31...

Tesla Model 3 LR RWD - How would I check I have been delivered the LR option?

In the first page of the Tesla App go to the bottom and hit 'Specs and Warranty'. 'Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive' should be highlighted.

Thanks Shamone, yes we're really enjoying ours too. Just need to out the odd minor interior rattle and we'll be at 100% with it :) What colour did you go for?

M3 Refresh - Are Indicator buttons really poor design?

IMHO indicator buttons that are steering wheel mounted will only serve to potentially confuse when larger steering wheel (180+ degree) angles are employed in a manoeuvre.

I'm new to the forum, so hello to all :) Very much looking forward to the pickup of our new M3 RWD Long range on Monday. Coming from a 2017 BMW F31 MSport diesel it's going to be quite a change, one we're looking forward to embracing. Did wonder briefly about the incoming (2024) Highland model...
