Tesla left it on after installation and told me to leave "Permission to Export" set to "No" until I received PTO.

If you don't have it set to charge from the grid, it will only charge from solar, which is why the % dips overnight as it uses battery to maintain battery health.

Yesterday, I generated 48.2 kWh, home used 21.1 kWh, grid imported 7.5 kWh and exported 34.6 kWh so I would think I would be 100% self powered. Why does it think I used 37% from the grid rather than 0%? It doesn't take into account exports?

Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I should downgrade to an older version of Powerwall companion, because that did show me the battery health without having to enter the IP and password.

Interesting, so the gateway SSID and password are useless.

It did list an SSID beginning with TEG, but I was unable to see that so it must be hidden. I tried adding it manually to connect to it, but was unable to. There are also 2 Wi-Fi networks, one for each powerwall, beginning with TeslaPW as you've said, but the password didn't work.

Exactly. I also asked them why it jumped UP 17% in 15 minutes time. The Powerwalls can't even charge that quickly on grid.

That seems to be the same problem I'm having. I have 2 and am getting half of what you're getting.

What charge rates are you getting when charging from the grid? I have 2 Powerwall 3s and they are charging at 3.3 kW. When I first got them in December, I believe they were charging much faster than that, but I don't remember the exact rate.

Powerwall Companion only shows 15 minute increments for the battery %. I wish I had even more granular.

I've never seen the numbers not match before. 0.8 kWh should only be 3% of 27 kWh, not 17%. It dropped 17% in 15 minutes for some reason.

I put in my panel size in PVWatts and left everything else at default and it seems to be way off. January says 1,238 kWh and I only generated 259 kWh.

I'm having trouble figuring out the parameters from PVWatts. Does the Tesla Full Plan Set have the parameters needed? I entered the system size, but are the default values for everything else correct? They don't seem to be, because January PVWatts says 1,238 kWh and I only generated 258 kWh

Interesting! You should talk to support and point that out and say your clocks reset. Maybe they can fix something.

I was told that Powerwalls were a battery backup, not a UPS. There is a lag between when power is lost and when the powerwalls supply power.
