    Few Model S/Tesla Questions...

I can't really speak to the other questions, but, This may be because the car is asleep when you first open the app. For some actions you need to wait for the car to wake up before they work. When you first open the app you'll likely notice the image of the car is shimmering/pulsating, which...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

TeslaFi doesn't have data for every Tesla, only the ones who subscribe to their service. >2000 is a large number comparatively on their platform.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Woke my car up to check, now installing 2024.14.8. I've had .3 and .6 in the past 3 weeks. There must have been some showstopping bugs in those previous versions.

They will have to eventually. I would be quite surprised if they are not already training the system for driving in major markets outside the US. They won't be waiting for the go-ahead from regulators to allow city streets FSD before starting the training process.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

My boot strut started playing up a week after 2024.14.3 was installed but I can't imagine it was software related. It was doing the same thing you describe, as well as grinding/metal-on-metal noise coming from it when it eventually opened after some gentle persuasion. Just had it replaced under...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Yes, it's normal for an update to disappear if you don't install it before the distribution is pulled. You'll just get offered the next one when it's available instead.

    Insurance Question - Young Driver

My son was 25 when I got my M3LR just over 2 years ago. I looked into adding him onto my policy & the best price I was given at the time was £3500 (my policy was ~£600). Bearing in mind that was for domestic UK driving only. To be honest, I think you will be out of luck getting your son covered...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

It's a big leap from updating of Android Auto apps like Waze, Maps, Spotify etc to software updates that affect the operation of the car. I did miss Android Auto for a while when I first got my Tesla but to be honest I'm not sure what functionality I'd ever use on it any more, even if it were...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Just noticed a new behaviour on regular AP; it now slows down for roundabouts on dual carriageways while on AP set at 70. I drive the same section of road to a roundabout regularly & it has never slowed before if there was no traffic in the way. Tonight it slowed to a reasonable speed from a...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I think it's just very very random. My car updated the day I got it, then again three further times in the first month.

I suspect that "No FSD" filter in TeslaFi means cars that are not capable of FSD, not that it is not purchased/enabled. Otherwise there would be many many more in the list. I've had .3 and .6, which would show up there if it included cars that just hadn't bought FSD (I have a TeslaFi sub).

    Bought a Model 3 from a 3rd Party Seller

You should be protected by distance selling rules if you bought it from a remote seller without being there in person. There's also a cooling off period registered dealers have to abide by. It's worth checking up on those in advance of trying to get them to fix anything, so at least you are...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I was hesitant to post about it to avoid the usual rebuttal of "it's just you" or "someone always says this" but... I'm on .3 and have been out twice in varying states of rain so far. The wipers definitely behave better than before when it's raining but I did still get a lot of dry wiping when...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

There's no way to log into the app on a phone with the account that belongs to the car, so no, I doubt it. It looks like this is just an update to the Spotify app to add functionality that has always been on other devices when you have your own account. I guess they may have added a way for the...

Installing now. Looks like the rollout is picking up. I only got 2024.8.9 10 days ago, so I was expecting to have to wait a bit longer.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

There's a general fixation on the large 3d vehicle graphic being somehow the deciding factor on whether Intel cars get the update or not. I'm sure that particular function is just one of many in the software branch. There are likely many other changes in the background that the Intel processor...

    Making the final payment

As others have said, multiple payments is ok, but your bank may let you do a larger one if you ask them first. Having said that, it's always worth calling your bank & speaking to a human before making large transfers, to make sure they don't get automatically stopped by fraud protection systems.

What were you driving at the start of the '10s.....

Wasn't sure I'd see any Skoda on here. Mine were: Skoda Fabia vRS diesel (2005-2012) - 100% reliable, never a single issue Skoda Octavia vRS diesel (2012-2020) - Also 100% reliable VW eGolf (2020-2021) - Traded in for the ID3 when VW were giving them away due to Dieselgate VW ID3 (2021-2022) -...

    Roadside assistance without warranty

I would suggest getting regular third party roadside assistance. Even on a brand new car the Tesla assistance is patchy at best. Anything outside business hours it's apparently worthless, from posts I've seen on here. I think my Green Flag cover is somewhere in the region of £40 per year &...

    UK Pricing piss take

It's very difficult to find specific data points to compare directly but most corporate occupations in the US earn significantly more in the US than here. As others have said, that is generally the target market for above-average priced cars. I can lift & shift my position to one of my company's...

    Home charging

My M3 has only done 11,000 miles in just over 2 years due to working at home permanently but I wouldn't think twice about installing a home charger at that price, to be honest. The convenience alone is justification enough IMO. After having EVs for around 5 years I can honestly say not needing...

Tesla Financial Services UK - Ghost-ship?

You should have the V5C if the car is registered to you. If you've misplaced it, you can request a replacement directly from the DVLA. Edit: Never mind. Someone else mentioned PCP & I didn't notice you had said PCH in your original post.

    Software updates

This is definitely a new problem for cars, which didn't exist before Tesla. There's always going to be FOMO if the base model of a vehicle is updated over time with new internal technology hardware. There will come a time that some updates to the newest models just can't physically work on the...

    Changes to Supercharging?

I think the "membership" is tied to the car when you own one but if you need to charge other EVs expect you'll need to sign up for a separate membership. The billing is obviously automatic via the car for a Tesla but for others it's not.

    Changes to Supercharging?

For anyone who didn't get the email yet, this is all it says: The Learn More link just points to the Supercharging part of the web page but this is the relevant page: https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/support/supercharging-other-evs#supercharging-membership

Model Y Blowing cold air but only on auto

How long have you had the car? If you've only owned it during cold weather so far, the behaviour you describe is somewhat normal when the weather starts to warm a little. While the general temperature inside the car may be at the set point on the climate control, the adjustments the system is...

    M3H - Which software version?

Sometimes updates get pulled/cancelled, so if you don't install it while it's offered it will just disappear from your download queue. It depends what the current release cycle is & if they need to issue bug fixes etc. It's not unusual, you'll just get the next update version. If you...

    Dashcam and collision warning

If your USB stick/drive is working, the camera is always recording while driving. Check that you have the small red circle in the corner of the camera icon, not a red cross. The constant recording only keeps the most recent one hour of video. If you manually save a clip by either pressing the...

    Hows your adaptive high beam?

I think that's more an argument in favour of adaptive beams than against. They are much more effective at not blinding other cars than a fixed alignment.
  35. K

    Hows your adaptive high beam?

It's quite hard to see the beam pattern unless you are on a very dark road with hedges/trees/buildings at the sides. A bit of mist or fog makes it much easier to see. TL;DR - I suspect the low beam alignment and adaptive high beams have little or no relevance to each other. (Disclaimer: This...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

The wipers are unfathomably hit & miss. I drove in moderate rain a week or so ago & the wipers worked pretty much perfectly. Both daytime and in the dark on the same day. Yesterday and this morning they were completely and utterly useless and barely activated in a similar amount of rain, so I...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

Just went for a quick country lane drive with this update to test out the adaptive high beams. They work very well, I could see they definitely drop fast enough for oncoming traffic even around sharp bends. Didn't get flashed once. However... I did get flashed three times when the high beams...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

It's not FSD, it's basic autopilot. Calling it "Full Self Driving Capability" on his videos is misleading and clickbait. To be honest, I think it's quite dangerous to use the current version of AP on those types of roads and Tesla should prevent it from being used outside of the "restricted...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

Spotify won't play "Explicit" tagged songs (2023.32)

My issue is the opposite. Spotify in the car won't play explicit tagged songs, no matter what I try. They are displayed in the playlist but are greyed out. When it gets to them they are just skipped. I gave up looking for a solution to be honest. It's not that I'm specifically trying to play...

    Home Assistant Integration(s)

There's a force_data_update button entity you can use to pull the latest info from the API. It does wake the car though, so best to only use it if you need to. I don't have IO, but wouldn't you stop the charge based on when the dispatch is off with the Octopus integration rather than checking...

    2024 Insurance Costs

Which is interesting because I was with Admiral in 2022 as they were cheapest by far. Their quote for 2023 was nothing short of laughable at double the previous year, so I moved to Churchill. For 2024 Admiral are once again the cheapest for me by a long shot, so I switched back... Car insurance...

M3 windows opened/vented themselves this morning

I just found my car windows in the "vented" position as if that option was clicked in the app. Having checked back through my home security cameras I can see they were closed at 8:30 this morning, but open at 13:30 this afternoon. Unfortunately no motion set off the camera between those times to...

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

I think Tesla just uses the Google Maps routing and speed estimations doesn't it? I know there are now added calculations for efficiency and arrival SoC but the routing is all Google I believe. I haven't done it for a while, but I did compare the Tesla route to Google a couple of times when I...

[UK] What we already knew - EV misinformation in press - it’s not gone unnoticed

For extra effect, get the can out of the frunk. Never fails to add extra confusion. Thankfully last spring was likely the final time I'll need to do that at all... Switched to an Einhell battery mower last year.

    Don't buy a model Y now...

General consensus is that nothing is a fact with Tesla until you have the car in your possession. Any "this is coming soon" type posts are conjecture at best, until cars actually start arriving with those changes.

    How Does Tesla Operate?

What's the context for your chart? Average market price of what? Not disputing it, just curious what it relates to. Seems odd that it went up >5k in the first 6 months then down from there, so it doesn't look like a depreciation curve of a car bought in what appears to start Jan 2022.

    [UK] 2023.44

They would not be detected. Despite the appearance of looking somewhat real in the Apple advertising, they don't look anything like that in real life (plenty of youtube videos showing how they actually look). Even if they did look more "real", face detection systems are more sophisticated than...

    How Does Tesla Operate?

No, it isn't. Dealerships sell cars, Tesla Service Centers do not. Do they offer incentives that are not listed on the website at time of order? That's not something I've seen but If so, that's a good thing to look out for.
