100% on point. I am glad you took the time to provide that perspective of being fast & cheap, which is why I pushed for RT based on the Model3/Y platform or at least the same camera locations at the minimum with close enough body size. You go about retraining with new set of HW with cameras and...
Testing is fine, but having the same perspective on which the current NN is trained is important. One cannot just put cameras anywhere they like., unless they want to retrain it all over again for every little scenario
That is good to know. If that is the case, then it is possible. However I would still say the overall dimensions and camera placement locations would be the same as the Model3/Y in order to leverage the existing NN fine tuned for FSDs
the 94V tires hold 1477 lbs. So total = 1477x4 = 5908lbs
Weight of Tesla Model3 Dual Motor = 4034lbs
So it is accounting for 1874lbs of passengers and luggage. Works for me.
Incorrect. The M3 comes from factory on the Hankook Kinergy GT tires which are the exact same specifications. Tesla forgot to update their published specifications.
FSDs will always pick the rightmost turn lane on the left turns to avoid curb rash / jumping the median for most times when getting in the lane on the other end
I think it might behoove you if you read the fine print of the MB L3 conditions. The driver has to be paying attention to the MB screen only. Nowhere else. Cannot be on personal smartphone, ipad etc
Beggars.
Today the roads were clear yet FSDs struggled to make a right turn. Turns out it was courteous to a beggar on the street corner anticipating he would cross the road.
Uhhhhh
Who is the Waymo Driver? Oh yeah. It’s the sofware. Why do they use normal English words and make a mess of comprehension?
Waymos are designed to operate without the need for human input, except the times where it needs human input. 🤣
Got this error message today. I guess I really pushed FSDs. I need the AI team here now to test and train this out.
Maneuver aborted due to system error
In all cases, when I am driving, I am doing +20 on curves posted speed limit. Thsoe speed limits are generally for the lowest common denominator ie large trucks with soft suspensions that would understeer dangerously.
I have not had the opportunity to test in such a situation where all lanes are empty. Hopefully sometime this week I find a back road and will see how it goes
There are many possibilities including the possibility ithat the lane change does not help with the next move ie taking an exit.
Another possibility I can put forth is there is a vehicle in the other lane that is significantly faster than you are. In this case, it will not switch lanes and...
FSD is not that smart to do a fake out. Rather it is over evaluating the situation and ends up going back rather than making an aggressive and possibly over confident move.
Chuck’s UPL is very similar to the UPL I have to negotiate getting out of my neighborhood. 3 lanes going east, 3 going west, (40mph posted speed limit) with a median in the middle.
So do you have that UPL?
