Don’t they also mfg the SuC and related equipment in upstate NY?

Custom wheels: what is best width and offset for perfect square setup on X?

I switch from staggered OEM 22” to square 265/45/20 for winter and don’t notice any change on the speedo but haven’t done a measured mile. I went with that tire size due to many posts on here recommending it., and it has worked fine for 3 winters.

Did Tesla really lay off their entire Supercharger staff

I will be astonished if reverse psychology and the firing of a division gets your desired supercharger built.

    Wired iPhone Charging

Do you mean the flip-up holder with the lightening plug for older iphones doesn’t work with the newer iphone? I think you can just replace that lightening cable with one that fits your phone, USB-C? They used that wired flip up until the wireless one came out in 2020, with the wired one didn’t...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

I’m not trying to be tricky with language, IMO they were “forced” to pay for their dieselgate actions, they “decided ( or chose)” to create EA to comply with the verdict. Perhaps they could have decided/chose to simply pay the money to the EPA or another agency. Creating EA at least had the...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

They were fined for dieselgate. Afaik they made the decision to create EA for their penalty, if you consider that “forced.”

    Model X Raven Steering

Mine has never felt twitchy. I have only driven a couple Model 3 and they have sportier feel than any mode on thr X. Not sure I’d say floaty but I know what you mean. The small increments and straight line behaviour don’t sound right, mine has excellent tracking. Maybe your tires could be a...

    The anti-Tesla EV lovers

Definitely, I’m in the sticks with a woodstove. I could get through any of our outages in comfort with 75kWh.

    The anti-Tesla EV lovers

I’m in one of those areas with trees and wind- I lose power 0-4 times a year for 0.5-3 days at a time. Last one was 2 weeks ago for about 30 hours. I have to use a genset while looking at my MX sitting there doing nothing; I won’t buy another vehicle without at least V2L, preferably also V2H...

I consider Reuters to be trustworthy, but ‘sounding like you know who are the sources’ is different than only using sources on record.

I was given a tour of Bloomberg in NYC about 2010 and none of the offices had doors, they said for transparency, and that unnamed sources were never allowed.

FSD 12.3.6 Driving Too Close/On Center Line

Since I installed 12.3.6 a couple hundred miles ago I’ve felt it is almost constantly hugging the right/fog line and occasionally driving on the rumble strip/shoulder. It will hug the yellow/center but much less often. Equally annoying is how the TACC is now behaving- falling off of the max set...

That would be ~25 new or expanded SC per week to date, is there really that much construction underway?

Time to change a basic Supercharging design?

The City of Seattle has/had a program to install those on neighborhood power poles when requested, I thought they looked like a great plan but I have yet to see one when driving in the city.

Time to change a basic Supercharging design?

What EV models can charge inductively?
  16. G

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

I hope Tesla employees are seriously rethinking their nonunion status. I admit bias towards organized labor. I have heard of workers saying the stock options were a deciding factor, this was a while back. No doubt many of them were just fired/laid off/made redundant.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Letting a division “loaf along for years” without fixing the problems is poor management. Firing that division because they were poorly managed is more poor management.

    Non-staggered for Model X

That sounds ideal, verify with your tire shop. I have 265/45/20 on 8.5” wheels for winter and there are no issues. If I had 9.5” wheels I would say the same thing.

    100 Hz Pulse Charging?

I didn’t see where they named the wavelength other than High Frequency but that band runs 3-30MHz, there may be radio interference issues to solve along the way.

    Using a CCS Combo Adapter

“set climate and preheat battery”- that’s exactly what it does. The battery is heated enough to accept regen, not enough to accept the full output of a dcfc.

    Lug nut covers?

I’ve been given 2 different lengths at the SC, the longer ones could be trimmed down if they stick out.

I have the previous WR G3 SUV and they are great winter tires, these G4 are probably better still.

Buying a used 2020 Tesla Model X Long Range Plus Sport Utility 4D

1- The FSD should update OTA unless you prevent it like the current owner is doing. 2- You won’t get free supercharging once it’s put on your app/ removed from current owners app 3-Your money, your choice. Like choosing color or seating, all subjective. I’d get the X.

Preconditioning is not the same as getting the car ready for supercharger?

Good question. Some time when you’re driving to a SC try putting it in park for a minute and see if it stops preconditioning.

    2020 Model X LR+ w/FSD 40k miles for $48k - yes or no?

The cameras are there, the screen is there and shows 3 cameras when reversing. Seems like an OTA update could make that happen if they are serious about improving the vehicles over time that way.

    Blue liquid leaking

Agree it looks like coolant. Get it fixed asap, low coolant in a Tesla can require a tow truck, when warns it you it means you’re about to get stranded.

Battery/repair replacement Companies in the PNW

I don’t think battery replacement is a thing most owners ever have to worry about but there are extended warranties on the market if you feel the need. I’m looking at X Care because there are so many systems in the MX, if also covers the battery but if it was a la carte I might skip the battery...

    Question About TAPTES/Seat Cover Recommendation

I’ve had my own problems with China shipments. I use this one from amazon for my dogs and I’m happy with it, goes through the wash nicely in 2 pieces. It should be fine with kids too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09J7ZD8RT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Seattle Area- recommended Tesla-friendly body shop who can fix this

Check around the area and you’ll find Tesla’s wait time is in line with the top body shops. Your wish for ‘1 day or 2 max’ is not realistic, and a ‘quick’ repair still has to wait in line with all the others. At least at Tesla service they don’t have other brands in line ahead of you. I’m...

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) - time-of-use pilot

I wonder if PSE ever considered that people would purposely charge at peak demand hours and rates in the hope of getting a little rebate.

    Battery preconditioning for CCS-1?

Do you know of a link to describe how to get s3xy button to do this (on a prerefresh X)? I’m mechanical enough but not tech savvy.
  34. G

    Battery preconditioning for CCS-1?

    1. Locate convenient dcfc 2. Navigate to it 3. Preheat The car protects the battery with the same limits as navigating to a supercharger. Not asking for much here. A few years ago we had to manually initiate preconditioning on the screen, basically bring that back as an option, and of course...

    Battery preconditioning for CCS-1?

They could easily allow the driver to initiate the battery heating, and the car allows it within parameters to protect the battery.

2021 Model X, Monroney Sticker Range Increase

My 21 MXP built 12/2020 has the H pack, sticker range was 341 miles. This is prerefresh, the refresh came out in the fall 2021.

Ford says owners can start using superchargers today (Feb 29)

Maybe Tesla is discouraging DCFC competition by doing this aggressively. It’s not like competitors are popping up everywhere.

    Battery preconditioning for CCS-1?

I don’t think Tesla puts that much thought into what owners experience when charging.

Ford says owners can start using superchargers today (Feb 29)

I doubt manufacturers will standardize charge port location. They never did with ICE gas caps. Gas stations have long enough hoses, charging stations just need long enough cables.

Ford says owners can start using superchargers today (Feb 29)

I don’t know about CCS1 adapter being a smart purchase for most people. I was an early buyer through Delivered Korea and other than one test I’ve never needed it. For some people in some areas, sure, the rates may even be lower.

    AirBnB charger question

The Tesla gen 3 Wall Connector has selectable access but that feature wouldn’t be useful to an airbnb, its more for say an office where only the same group of cars can use it. In your case the cheap and easy way is to open the circuit between occupants. Have the cleaners shut off the breaker...

Installing a level 3 charger at home

There’s also the issue of most homes not having the available capacity, it would take more than half of a typical 200A service.

Big chip on A-pillar -- what's involved to fix?

Installing a level 3 charger at home

Does level 3 mean any DC charging or just DC fast charging? I would look at a <10kW DC that used DC (solar) input. My thinking is that there would only be a loss at the dc-dc converter as opposed to the rectifier and dc-dc conv. the car uses to charge on AC. Not saying I’d buy one but I’d...

Legacy Model X Key Fob Modification for Keyless Entry

How do you program a MX fob to a different MX? Will a SC do that?
  49. G

what changes came in the 2021 refresh and how do i know the used car i am after is a refreshed model

Another easy to tell difference is the trim, legacy models had chrome and afaik all the refresh MX have black.
