High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD:

yesterday, Friday May 24, the Car on FSD did not drift over the right white lane marking and onto the shoulder at the same place it did on the two previous days. We went on (to the post office) past our normal turn off and it did the "drift over beyond the white lane marking" thing. I did...

High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD:

thank you! #1 was operator error on my part. I should have quickly cancelled FSD. executed the turn then re-established FSD after I was well on my way using my new preferred route. Is that the way it should work? #2 message on the screen was a shocker, perhaps it is unrelated to the crossing...

High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD:

High lights of 2nd day of driving FSD: No super critical interventions, but there were two worth noting. This is after about 3 hours driving on a two lane hi way, city driving, and freeway driving. 1. while on FSD I signaled to make a right turn at the next street, instead FSD attempted to turn...

    Colorado - Loveland - FSD v12 Results

First drive with the new FSD so far: Very comfortable with it 95% of time. Problems: two times it put me straddling two lanes at a traffic light because it couldn't make up its mind and didn't have time or distance to settle in on a particular lane. On the return home it constantly would...

NHTSA make roads across the world less safe

I recall seeing a TV ad for an American Automaker featuring an attractive Hollywood star advertising their ADAS system in which the driver could look around and enjoy the scenery. Anyone else see it? It was recent but before this thread began.

I'm on 2024.8.9 Will 2024.8.9 need to be updated to something else via over the air update? Will I get an email? Do I need to check for it on the Tesla website? Will there be a Tesla app message? Will there be a message on the screen and where will it be? Will I not get it because I've...

Anyone in Hurricane country or anywhere else concerned with having both cars be electric?

I like this list, especially the last four and I WILL use them. I think the issue is upon returning to which I say "from past Ike experience they will not let you back in until everything is safe and electricity is available".

instead of saying sustainable energy why not say health of our citizenry

I like and agree with all your comments especially "it's the best car vehicle I've ever owned". I've stopped trying to convince anyone, unless asked. the idea of switching from the environment and climate change to one's health is something that only recently occurred to me.

I agree SO16. that has been exactly my sentiment since GM's EV1 and before.

instead of saying sustainable energy why not say health of our citizenry

A lot of people question the popular climate change narrative. And sustainable energy is too far in the future for them to care. But the one thing they/we are certain of is cancer among our friends and family. To be honest the term sustainable energy/ future in my mind I just associated it...

Anyone in Hurricane country or anywhere else concerned with having both cars be electric?

I don't see this as a problem for a couple of reasons: . 1. If electricity is out we are not getting gas either unless gas pumps are running off of generators. 2. We have a 12,500 KW generator with a big propane tank to fuel it.

    Stock Price concerns

Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Discussion Thread

Made my first comment on Facebook about how good my Tesla over the past 2-1/2 years has been on saving fueling costs and driving pleasure and lack of range anxiety. Plus I had to say (telling the truth) I'm not a liberal but a Trump supporter otherwise my comment would be ignored.

    Cybertruck Autp-Pilot

I think you are correct that auto pilot is steering by wire. but I think it's different now from a control loop analysis. Without variable turns ratio, the output to the control element (steering actuator) is linear with respect to the error (difference in where the car needs to be versus where...

    Cybertruck and FSDb

I've just learned that the Tesla cybertruck at this time does not have autopilot. One speculation is that it is because the CT's steer by wire innovation. Thinking about this further it could be autopilot software is more complicated because of CT's variable turn ratio. That is just driving down...

yeah, it seemed to stop working about the time Tesla said the driver would be notified when the car's location was being asked for. Guess I need to pretend I'm her and see if permission to locate comes up somewhere.

Phantom Braking getting worse - any ideas on how to stop it?

There is a place on our weekly commute on a newly constructed freeway where autopilot slows from 65 mph to something slower. I think it is a remnant of a location that required slowdown before the construction was finished. It would be good if Tesla could update these places. its been over two...

it would be good to have a tutorial about all the ways to prevent battery drain while being parked. Case in point parking at airport parking in the summer. Had to drive my gasoline car 140 miles roundtrip in Houston traffic (ba Humbug) because I could not trust Tes sitting for two weeks in...

    Cost of gasoline

Had to put some gas in the truck which I seldom drive any more and was shocked that it cost $40.00 for only 11 gallons of gas, to fill it less than half. Down here in Texas thats probably cheap compared to California and other places. Some day soon I'll get around to calculating how far my...

    Tesla F.U.D. appearing again

There are earlier adopters and there are "never adopters". I live in oil country where virtually everyone is a "never adopters" including friends, family' and everyone I run into. Now that the media is back on the FUD I've re-evaluated my strategy when explaining why I have a Tesla. First...

Subscription or purchase of FSD for 75 year olds

An accident, thats a very good point. and one thing that truly bothers me is that of getting used to it stopping at red lights. last week we had to drive gas car to church. When we came out an hour and a half later the car was still running. forgot that I had to turn it off. will that...

Subscription or purchase of FSD for 75 year olds

Seeing some recent YouTube videos of how well FSD is working and from my own limited driving on a one month subscription I'm wondering about continuing with a subscription or buying it outright for $15,000 for future reselling of the vehicle. I know predicting the future is difficult but lets...

Tesla stock price if had not been influenced by entities that would lose big bucks if Tesla successful

I've often wondered what the Tesla stock price would be if the detractors were not manipulating the stock price to keep it down. Granted, some were just doing it as normal day trading activities. But, it seems suspicious that on days of Tesla successes the stock would go down.

"Will not brake warning" at speed above 5MPH over the posted speed limit

Is it possible to increase the speed that Tesla will emergency brake. On the long stretch of freeway speed limit is 55MPH while traffic is consistently around 75MPH. It is ridiculous to drive only 60MPH in this situation, but above 60MPH (55+5) I get the warning will not Emergency Brake...

Thanks JB for the encouraging feedback. I just had to ask since I'd seen so many people saying they really enjoyed it. My first mistrust of it was while sitting a a red light with a big truck several feet in front of me. I just couldn't trust that my car could see the approaching traffic...

After trying FSD Beta for the first time I subscribed to FSD for a month and after trying it out it's crazy good. But it is alarmingly fast at making moves like accelerating from a red light turning green, it catches me by surprise. It goes through "stale yellow" lights that turn red before...

Phantom Braking getting worse - any ideas on how to stop it?

Phantom Braking getting worse - any ideas on how to stop it?

Never had a hard brake type of phantom braking, only slow downs that are always in the same spot in the relatively new revamp of the freeway. Also on a newly constructed beltway with very little traffic. speed limit was 70mph and TACC was limited to 30 mph for long stretches. mine was...

BitJam, I use auto pilot ALL the time and am about to wear out the stock by constant double tapping. I can't imagine steering a car all the way to North Dallas from south of Houston. Auto Pilot takes a lot of the stress out. I just got Beta tonight and anxious to try it. BTW, what's up...
