    I trimmed the lip of the second piece closer to the seats. It seems like it sits flat with the tire in there, but I notice a peak in my cargo cover. It's fine, but the OCD in me wants to iron it. Also, the case I have supporting the near side of the tire is about an inch too short.

    Why not both? I wouldn't pick the color based on cabin heat. Wife's white car had clear ceramic on the roof and I have a two-piece mesh shield on the blue. I feel the heat more only because I'm taller and my head is closer to the glass.

    I used the OE plate holder for my wife's car so she doesn't get hassled. I'm going without and rolling the dice. I don't care for the look of any of the clamp-ons.
