    Software v.12 2024.14.8

I miss the black/green bar showing realtime rate of charge/discharge. I like the speedometer getting larger, but does it need to be SO big? Bring back the tiny bar that showed green when I went down a big hill.

How to disable new charge reminder?

Do you have a 3rd party app that’s notifying you, rather than Tesla? I know my Stats app has the option to notify me at a pre-set %. I’ve not EVER been notified at 50%. I believe you’ve got to find the setting that is not to your liking and change it to fit your needs.

Sailun Erange Ecosphere Tires for M3

I tried to locate these Erange Ecosphere tires here north of Seattle. No luck at Discount Tire or Midas. I’m getting Primacy’s again, I guess. Midas actually told me this AM they “don’t service Teslas”, though Midas was listed as an outlet for Sailun Erange tires. I don’t know if this is...

    Long Term Tire Efficiency Numbers

Has anyone seen noise levels on these E-tires? I have stock Primacy’s now on my 2019 M3 LR, but want something with better range and quieter. Anyone have experience with ERange for noise level?

My Model Y battery loses 2 % each day while it sits in garage, Sentry & Climate are off, what gives ?

My sentry is off and it’s unlocked at home in the garage. I also, routinely, turn off radio and climate control when I’m parked. Otherwise anyone walking through the garage with a phone connected app will “wake” the car. I don’t know if this comes from the 12V or the big battery, but I’d...

Anyone Familiar with ReCurrentAuto.com Battery Evaluation?

So did you not use Recurrent app? I didn’t like it’s association Smartcar. Has anyone asked a Tesla rep. what they think about this app? I’d like to quanitfy my battery health but wonder about having it in my Tesla.com acct. Opinions?

    Major Phantom Braking Issues

I don’t have FSD. Phantom braking I refer to is on basic autopilot.

    Phone Key Disable

That interesting that your S does that. Our M3 doesn’t change even though my hubby sometimes goes to the door first. It stays at the last setting for us, which is for me. Perfect!

    Major Phantom Braking Issues

I see you’ve had a 2018 Tesla and now a 2020. Do you see any difference in number of phantom braking events? I’m trying to determine if the older US sensors in the 2019 are worth keeping the car a bit longer. I seldom have phantom braking, and really want to keep it that way.

    That’s not right! Make noise.

Is it madness that wipers can't be controlled by the driver on cruise control or autopilot mode?

I frequently have to override my wipers on AUTO, though I’ve not tried to turn them off entirely. I’m usually in a deluge needing more. I have the icon moved onto my screen so it’s quick and easy to access.

I regret my Model Y purchase because of seat comfort and seating position problems

I test drove the 2023 Model 3 today. The seats were awful. They were too firm and the head rest too far forward. I wouldn’t be able to live with them. My M3 2019 LR is fabulously comfy. There is such a contrast. The one I drove was Std Range. Does anyone know if the quality of the seats is...

Weird experience with my M3 and a Turo rental

I realize this post is 6 months old, but I just drove a 2023 M3 Standard range and felt like I could not live with the seat though I love my M3 2019 LR! How can it make such a big difference, I don’t know. Something is pushing and not giving in the wrong direction. I’m going to keep mine.

Is new M3 LR AWD HW4?

I’d also like to know this. The on-line chat couldn’t answer battery questions on new 2023. I thought that odd, but perhaps it varies?!
  16. Sans-gas

What Percent is Your Tesla Charged to While at Home?

Yes, but, not all Tesla’s are LFP. Mine, 2019 M3 LR is not. I maintain it at 30-80% charge unless there’s a planned longer drive.
  17. Sans-gas

My new model 3 is having constant software issues - did anyone else experience this?

That’s not right. I had one issue that I scheduled service for and when they viewed the problems, they communicated and re-initiated some over-the-air fix that totally took care of the issue. I also found my car to bit a bit twitchy in the 1st couple hundred miles. I’m not sure if it was me...

    2019 SR+ to 2023 LR comparison

I was about to enter a question about comparisons of owners of 2023 to compare with 2019. I have a 4 year-old 2019 M3 LR and love it. Since mileage is creeping up, 56K, I’d consider getting the newest M3 LR. Are you experiencing more phantom breaking? Have you driven it in the rain to see if...

App that Works with Tesla Trip Planning

I find 2 apps useful for this information, but I know there are others. I use Superchargers by Ndili and ABRP (a Better Route Planner). Having just done a multi-charge stop trip, I found all to be useful supplements for the cars plan. AC is huge when traveling in hot climates, as you probably...

    BMS_u011 error while supercharging

Schedule service to check it, since your warrantee isn’t up yet. As long as you start the process before it’s up, it should be covered. (Mobile service rep told me this when I was having an issue past warrantee expiration).

    Bikes crossing the road

As a cyclist myself, it freaked me out when a guy rode his bike in crossing lane in front of my car at a stop sign and my screen showed NOTHING! Not FSD and I was at a stop sign, but not as I would expect it to be. He was in the right of way, but SHEEESH! I don’t know if it gets anywhere, but...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I think “the knob” is ridiculous. It’s what I think is laughable about other EVs interiors I’ve seen. Just buy another car and don’t add “the knob” to your Tesla.

Canadian M3 unlocked and driven away by another owner accidentally.

Can anyone tell me about the 2 M3’s in Canada that were apparently accessed and driven away accidentally by wrong Tesla owner? They were in the news March 2023. My sis-in-law sends me all the “issues” she finds and I feel the need to clarify what happened.

Do you reckon its safe to buy a second hand key fob?

I guess I don’t have the answer but I’d say why do you need one? In 4 years I’ve never missed having authentic keys or fob. Though I have forgotten my wallet or my phone from time to time, I’ve not ever needed a fob. Try living without one for a bit.

    Older Tesla owners

Ditto re: the UI of gray fonts on white background or white on gray backgrounds. Sexy...but I know the age of the designer when I see it and glower! As an older driver, I want fun as well as green and reliable. It puts zip back into my step. I thought if I didn’t make the leap to a more...

Phone key in car - lock with key card

I think you may have to plan to keep the phone with you. I too use the phone 99% of the time, but have forgotten my phone inside and have forgotten my card at home. Either of these situations can be problematic since the card backs up you “phone key”.

    Charge cable release in app?

I have a 2019, and I’m assuming it’s the same as yours. I touch and lightly press the back door handle enough to wake the car, but not open the door. Then when you press on the handle’s “button” it releases. See it that works for you.

Why do people always park next to me?

Haha! I thought it was just me! I have parked in a totally empty lot one time and came out to see a panel truck within a foot of my beautiful new car! It hasn’t stopped. It’s sometime magnetic about Tesla’s and big pick ups, too! I do think the best idea is to park near another nice (or...

My driving range was only 58% of estimated, and 37% for climate control

I enjoy the new feature showing detailed battery usage on trips. I sometimes try to use the projected energy, even if I turn down heat, or slow down in the last couple miles to get there. Predicted usage has been pretty accurate until it got colder out (high 30’s).

Is it madness that wipers can't be controlled by the driver on cruise control or autopilot mode?

I have a 2019 M3 and, yes, you can turn them off and also set them they way you want. The icon is to the right of your climate controls on the bottom of your MCU.

What's the EV life like when Model 3 is the only car and drives 40k+ miles a year? Spoiler Alert, very long experience sharing

    Who Wins?

I believe I’m primary and generally drive. We got in the car today and all was fine until we got out to walk away. I didn’t hear a locked sound, so walked back to retrieve my phone. Oops, I’d forgotten it at home and car locked. No indication I didn’t have it during the drive. It was driving...

My new Model 3 didn't come with a charging cable. Where can I charge it temporarily?

That’s a poor start!! Call your local Service Center and have them send you one ASAP! No excuse for leaving that out. I hope there’s another Tesla owner near who can step up in the meantime.

2020 Model 3 losing excessive amount of battery power?

22F says a lot. Every system in the car now is provided by the battery, not ICE. Climate, lights, forward motion, etc. Are you using climate inside, seat heater(s)? Using navigation feature it will project usage (roughly). This will allow you to plan charge stops as needed. I sometimes...

    Who Wins?

When we do "the approach", it stays on the profile of the person who drove last. It has not been an issue except 1 time my spouse remained in the car and the alarm went off. We both got notification on our phones of the alarm! Whoever gets there 1st causes the car to unlock, it seems.
