    A newbie's first thread

I would pick S for more range, Room, hatchback. I would pick 3 for a tight budget.

    Aptera

The article says 2025. I think how fast it can finalize the production depends on how much it can secure the funding. When Tesla first produced its 2,450 Roadsters from 2008 to 2012, it didn't have a Fremont factory until 2012. So, a factory might not be needed for the first 2,000 Aptera...

    Aptera

That's what the FAQ says: Late 2024. It also depends on funding. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1142486_aptera-lacks-funds-solar-ev-hints-of-design-changes

Do I have any recourse against Tesla? Update

I don't think there's much of anything that you can do. It looks like Tesla wants to get rid of MCU1, so if it's broken, you'll have to pay for MCU2. They honored their MCU1 for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles and the rest is from your pocket.

    Shareholder vote

Here's a professional piece: Explainer-Legal Hurdles Loom Over Tesla's Bid to Revive Musk's Record Pay Delaware judge is reassured that Tesla "will not litigate any dispute over the shareholder vote outside Delaware." I interpret that if the Texas meeting votes to turn down what Tesla wants...

Elon Musk once mocked China’s BYD. Now it’s running circles around Tesla

It's a hybrid, but Tesla doesn't have a hybrid, so the comparison is not meaningful for those who want battery only. Toyota believes hybrid is the future, but not for many of us who drive battery EVs.

    Cruise control deactivated 😠

Depends. Did it work when you bought your car and after so many warnings from the driver monitoring system, the system penalized you?

    Shareholder vote

Not knowledgeable in laws but by common sense: Tesla is under Delaware so it must win an appeal over there to continue the 2018 compensation package. When voters move the court to Texas, any new challenges will be in Texas and no longer in Delaware. Tesla can obey old Delaware ruling and...

Hello TMC - I'm buying a Model 3 in LA and driving it back to Vegas. Hope I can SuperCharge and make it back.

I didn't read whether the used car is from a dealer or a private transaction. If it's private, the seller can put your name and email as the new owner and hopefully your Supercharger will work right away. If you buy from a dealer, you need to upload the paperwork to Tesla to prove your...

What will I lose out on if I buy an early 2021 MSP?

Tesla does have S/X that were produced at the end of 2020, and they are called model 2021. Those 2021 that were produced in 2020 got obsolete technology: No Bluetooth fob, no key card, can't close windows remotely... Those 2021 produced in 2021 have current technology.

    “Additional camera calibration” for FSD

It sounds like a tough issue to crack due to the referral to Tesla’s engineering team. Since you don't buy/subscribe to FSD, and your Autopilot is calibrated successfully, I am not sure Tesla is obligated to ensure FSD works unless you pay for FSD.

    Blank screen

No. Hopefully, it's not reproducible often, or you should get Tesla to fix it.

FSD TIMEOUTS WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING

Nags were to be eliminated in 1/2023: https://www.notateslaapp.com/software-updates/upcoming-features/id/1124/tesla-to-remove-steering-wheel-nag-this-month If that was not enough, in 5/2024 it should be gone, too...

How to make sure my new Tesla account works?

If it's a Tesla NEVI-funded station, it has to comply with the Federal terms that it can take a credit card without opening a Tesla account, just like you go to a gas station. However, there is only about 1 Tesla NEVI-funded in the US, so you might want to open a Tesla account and add your car...

2024 Highland Standard Range Stops Charging at 94%

It's common for the BMS (battery management system) to calibrate the percentages and miles. The current 94% could be recalibrated as 100%, reflecting that in the future.
