In 2023, who's making the best all-weather, all-season tires for the Tesla Model 3?

Discount Tire has a really good deal on the Goodyear ElectricDrive GTs. Snagged them today for $875 installed!

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

I have been going back and forth between the Hankook ION EVO and the Pirelli ELECT but instead pulled the trigger on Goodyear ElectricDrive GT. Thanks to the Discount Tire sale, I was able to order them for $875 installed vs $1100+ for the Hankooks and Pirellis. Install scheduled for mid June...

Should I update from my 2021.4.18 since I have FSD?

If you're gonna do all this, you might as well just drive normally without any AP/FSD features. The whole point of driver assist systems is to reduce fatigue... constantly holding the wheel and actively applying resistance for the entire length of the drive defeats the purpose. Since I'm still...

What’s the point if I have to tug the wheel every 10 seconds?

Before I got my TSL6 anti nag chip, the nags occurred every 12 seconds on the 35 mph back roads around here, 1-2 minutes on the freeway.

Should I update from my 2021.4.18 since I have FSD?

How did you manage to dodge the updates for 3 years? I’m 6 months into dodging the recall update and I get daily “schedule installation” popups.

Current favorite tire for Model 3

I still have yet to find dry/wet brake test results for the Sailun eRange tires. I really like the price point and the reported efficiency figures... but until now every other Sailun tire is near the bottom of the list for dry braking, wet braking, handling, etc and this tire is not trustworthy...

Current favorite tire for Model 3

Is that $600 installed? If so, what tires are you using and how good are they in the rain?

What’s the point if I have to tug the wheel every 10 seconds?

Just buy the TSL6 anti nag chip and save yourselves the hassle…

What’s the point if I have to tug the wheel every 10 seconds?

The TSL6 chip is installed in the diagnostics port inside the center console under the vents. It functions by toggling the right scroll wheel every few seconds to trick AP into thinking your hands are on the wheel all the time. It can be turned on and off in several ways, the easiest being...

What’s the point if I have to tug the wheel every 10 seconds?

If you're not having issues with the cabin camera freaking out, you can get away with hands free FSD by installing the TSL6 anti-nag chip. If you want to block the cabin camera completely and avoid the annoying "pay attention" notifications, you will be limited to AP only but in my experience...

creaking @slow speed /turning after upper control arms replaced

I just ignore all the creaks and rattles. Chances are if I try to get any of it "fixed" under warranty, the service center will half-ass it or break something else in the process. I'll probably be fine for the next 100k miles and if not, it's new car shopping season 🙃

I got my new Autopilot defeat device

If the new FSD 12.4 nag changes aren't another Elon lie and they make their way down to AP, I will remove the anti nag chip and update to the latest software. Until then, TSL6 + 2023.44.1 is the way to go

Autopilot is useless on non-highway roads.

Excellent news on the OpenPilot success! For $1400 including harness cost this is a much better deal than FSD. It’s nice to finally have viable alternatives on the market.

NHTSA make roads across the world less safe

If Elon fully removes the "apply torque to wheel" nag in FSD 12.4 and these changes make their way down to AP, I will remove the TSL6 anti-nag chip I am currently using on version 2023.44.1 and will update to the latest software. I don't expect this to happen anytime soon though, because Elon...
