My guess is that this is the Carle Place supercharger on Tesla's map. It's right across the street from the tentative location we had seen a potential site design ticket for a year ago (see Long Island, NY - Supercharger Locations 2020).
Construction is pretty much done. Chargers are installed. Cabinets put in place and being worked on. I give it another week or two for them to finish wiring everything up and finish the landscaping.
I agree. Almost complete. I spoke with a worker there Friday morning and he said it should be opened in another two weeks.
It was raining this morning, so I snapped a few photos from inside the car.
Looks close. Still no meter from PSEG, and probably won't be for another couple of weeks or so. They still have this weird concrete platform with some conduit sticking out. Not sure what it is for, but something is missing.
However, you are right, all the chargers and the cabinets have had the fenced removed.
I suspect thats a transformer platform, as in the picts I don't see a transformer, just the switchgear and supercharger cabinets. So still most likely a couple of weeks away. Utility provides the transformer and the meter.
like all items, transformers are in shorter supply, and damaged ones from IDA will take priority. I suspect we will see more delays than normal installing transformers.
