Was there a large green metal box behind the right most stall? If you look at the first three pictures posted in this thread you can see the empty pad.Sorry, didn't see one
I did not see one there. Was there a large green metal box behind the right most stall? If you look at the first three pictures posted in this thread you can see the empty pad.
I doubt that it is that simple. I think they build them wherever they can get them. I'd be surprised if they aren't working on that mall @ El Camino as well. They have had EVgo chargers there for some years, I don't see them being ICED, so I guess enforcement is good.Interesting to see how the other two are so far away from the others. Most likely handicap accessible based on the sign and amount of space to the sides similar to the two on the lower tier of the other Carlsbad SC.
But yes I still think this wasn't the best place for this SC with how busy the parking lot always is. The mall off El Camino and the 78 still would have had my vote.
They tried to work with the other mall a few years ago. What I heard from someone at the city (as I recall) - because the land is owned by the city and the mall leases it, things got complicated which made it not very attractive to move forward.I doubt that it is that simple. BTW, the EVgo chargers also have Tesla connectors on them now.
So how about BOTH.
It's always good to have more chargers in the area.
Not surprising that this spot is filling up on the weekends despite this being 16/44 posts that have opened in the county in the last week or so.
I agree. One in Oceanside right off the freeway would definitely help for the people going to/coming from Orange County. Hopefully the 2 they are working on in the Del Mar Heights area will also help offset this one a bit. The San Marcos one may help some too. But regardless, I think this will always be packed. The general parking here can be so bad many days, that I could see Tesla owners charging here even when they don't need, just to find a place to park. Not surprising that this spot is filling up on the weekends despite this being 16/44 posts that have opened in the county in the last week or so.
Only 16 posts here and it's the most convenient V3 Supercharger along main thoroughfares in San Diego County. Nearly everything else convenient to travelers going North/South is an urban charger for some crazy reason, and not even a V2. Could easily use another 3-4 Superchargers in San Diego County on top of the ones Tesla already has planned...
