I've purchased a number of used seats. Many are worn, have obvious discoloration (black seats), and permanent-looking creases or bubbles. From that, I feel the seats are too fragile. With dogs, iIwould get seat covers.
I bought the Basenor seat covers from Amazon. Very thick fake leather. I experienced damage on my driver seat on my 3 With no covers installed. The Basenor covers are very thick and I am no longer worried about accidental damage from my cell phone case corners/belt clips.

It goes over existing seats. For the rear seats, the covers are very thick and the auto fold down seat function no longer works for me because the seats are wedge against each other too tight. Manually folding down still works for me. There are some videos online on how to strap on tightly and how to remove rear bench for install. The seat covers are not perfect in front sides as it lifts up a bit but I am ok with it.
Some pictures of the Basenor seat covers. My original seats are black. But if your dogs go out and get dirt all over their paws and are often wet, then a proper car dog cover may be better. They have them on Amazon and Costco.
Honestly, at least from pics, that looks pretty good, haha. Glad that there are options in the case I end up ruining the stock ones. Thanks for the info.
