China just announced their goal of mass production, world domination of producing humanoid robots.

It was never about electric vehicles, it was about rare earth elements, mines, refining for batteries, automation running robots.
Amazing insight, goals and fortitude:

Secure rare earth minerals
Copy USA patents of NCA, NMC, LFP battery techs
Copy Teals and quickly master cheap EV production
Slowly copy and develop automated driving

The minerals, batteries and automation are all stepping stones for China's long term goal of humanoid robots
To address their foresight challenges in the world, declining birthrate, declining Chinese population, aging population, need to maintain workforce, seeking low cost workforce, able to create humanoid robot warriors for war, China is gearing up to complete on the world stage like no other country

We are watching China as a biggest threat to ALL other countries not aligned in a subservient way
This will not take years, if you are younger than 80 years old, you will see china be able to assemble an army like we saw in irobot and Star Wars movies

There is no shortage of Rare Earth minerals or other items necessary to produce electric cara and robots.

Mining and processing them is just an environmentally damaging process. Everyone let China do that dirty work, as we were fighting environmentalist that thought by not doing it in the US would save the Earth. In reality it would be much better for the Earth to do that here, and near to the production facilities.

Same with Woke policies. This policy was fed into American activists that thought they were doing "Progressive" goodness. Reality is that it just weakened out economy, and got citizens fighting among ourselves. Those countries have absolutely no tolerance for Woke policies. Just follow the party line or disappear.

Their biggest problem is finding work for their citizens, so they can live a civilized life.

Long term their population declines in numbers similar to most of the western civilizations

Would be great for China to internally develop useful robots. However, they have a history of industrial espionage where they steal the technology developed by other countries instead of developing it on their own.

The "whole-of-nation system" reference makes me think of Great Leap Forward - Wikipedia . When a central authority decides to re-task a whole country towards a common purpose from the top down, the result is usually misery. If China wants to succeed on the world stage in the long term, they have to build an economy of free-er thinkers, free-er internal competition, and letting the natural/market forces carve the path forward, not this kind of *sugar*.

Remember he can showcase out of Austin a simple task with Optimus we have never seen before, a simple human task with the phases of:

Moving across the CT or M2 factory floor
Moving or assembling an object
Return to a wireless charging pad when necessary (he just stole away a whole dev team for industrial wireless charging)
Then back out on the factory floor
