Last year, they ordered the time trial by best lap time from the previous sessions. The theory was that meant that cars wouldn't be holding each other up during the time trial. Unfortunately, the reality was that mechanism was, um, "flawed" and they also didn't generally give enough spacing between cars in the TT (timing constraint?) such that a number of us experienced traffic during the TT.

Yeah, there clearly wasn't enough space to the car in front of me. I only gently accelerated out of the entry point, because the straight leading to the start line is where you want to gun it... but the guy in front of me was overdoing the exact same thing and I was catching up. So I backed off even more and trickled along until I hit the hairpin, at which point I launched into the straight to start the lap. That was enough and I never got too close to him.

I'm officially signed up. For the TT as well. Excited. (Btw Finally took delivery this past Friday. S85d in red with all black interior. LOVE THIS CAR!)
