Redwood Motorsports is excited to announce the release of the standard Ohlins 'Road and Track' kit for the Model 3! With years of experience manufacturing and tuning custom Ohlins DFV based coilover kits for the Model 3 previously, we are excited to offer a more affordable entry level Ohlins suspension kit, with the ability to upgrade and modify in the future using Redwood Motorsports developed components and add-ons that we have developed for our custom kits! This standard version (called 'Road and Track') is engineered and produced by Ohlins Sweden, with the goal of making an affordable crossover kit that bridges the gap between track and agressive street use!

Since 2019, Redwood Motorsports has been selling custom engineered Ohlins DFV based coilover kits for various Tesla platforms. While we offer our own custom manufactured, valved, and sprung kits in Grand Touring, Performance, and HPDE specs, the standard Ohlins kits offer a great value for performance and nicely bridges the gap between street and track use, in a cost effective package. If you would like more information on the benefits of custom vs standard kits, or upgrading standard kits using Redwood Motorsports components and accesories pease contact us - we're happy to walk you through various options for the standrad or custom RW kits. Options include spring rate and valving changes, bump stop limiters, anti-flex billet aluminum 'Heavy Duty' front forks, floating top hats, billet remote adjusters, rear control arms, sway bars and end links, etc.

And now for the main attraction... Meet the revolutionary new Road & Track suspension for Tesla Model 3. Backed by over 45 years of experience in advanced suspension development and global racing series, the Road & Track line showcases Öhlins’ ability to engineer the ultimate suspension system for driving enthusiasts.

The Road & Track suspension for Tesla Model 3 is specially tuned for battery electric vehicle (BEV) applications and underpinned by cutting-edge Öhlins suspension technology. Öhlins’ patented Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology transforms chassis control while sustaining a refined ride quality unsurpassed in the OE or aftermarket. Experience racecar-like handling without sacrificing comfort and safety, whether you’re driving to the office or crushing lap times on the track.

Ride height and damping control are adjustable to help you achieve the exact look and feedback you desire. Dampers can be individually adjusted through a wide range of adjustment options, with more than 20 defined clicks. Systems feature a monotube damper structure designed for heightened response, with strengthened inverted struts and aluminum body shocks that are lightweight and aid in cooling.

With the Öhlins Road & Track suspension for Tesla Model 3, you can expect a superior ride quality and elevated comfort over a variety of conditions and uses. The combination of premium features and options to fine-tune your performance result in the ultimate suspension package for daily drivers and weekend warriors alike.

If I remember correctly, Heath said it was around 7k front and back, which is about the same spring rate as the GT kit, but of course with actually functional damping. I'm going sport or RT. Stock springs are too soft for the big bumps, methinks.

How will this compare with the performance DFV option for Model Y Performance ?
It's a much higher spring rate... so no matter what they do with valving it should feel significantly stiffer than our Performance kit (but less harsh than our "HPDE Track Kit"). We know the spring rates of the Ohlins "factory kit" but we can not yet release the data :) ... soon.

We'll have the first ones in the states and will do a review... but it will be on the stiff side. They needed to make a kit that generally works for road and track use, plus be cross compatible with 3 and Y. I would say it's probably a solid entry level kit, but we are planning on offering additional spring options to modify them, billet forks, and a number of various compatible accesory options for those wanting to tweak them (which I suspect will be the case). But we'll have the first factory kit on a car here in the states very soon ;)

Looking forward to your review of these units! I’m especially interested in how harsh these are for daily driving and whether they make any noise. The rear not using either the top or bottom rubber spring isolators concerns me slightly, but hopefully they don’t make a bunch of noise. 🤞
