I'm not looking forward to cleaning off my Model 3 after a winter storm. On other cars, I scrape enough ice off the windshield to free the wipers, then lift them up to finish the job. On the Model 3, the wipers cannot be lifted up from the stowed position (as they're behind the edge of the hood). They can be parked several inches up on the windshield, assuming you know to expect freezing precipitation. They can then be lifted off the glass, but they won't stay there. I decided to order a windshield cover.

The BASENOR cover claims to be customized for the Model 3, but appears to barely reach the hood. However, there are a lot of other choices (at least 100 at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/automotive/10294369011/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_automotive), though none with brand names I recognized. I have ordered one from HEHUI (https://www.amazon.com/HEHUI-Windshield-Layers-Protection-Defense/dp/B07VBZWK5L), which is #2 in Amazon's "top 100". It should be long enough to overlap the hood so the magnets there can help hold it down. (Of course, the magnets along the top edge won't hold to the glass roof.)

Now I'm thinking about the rear window, which I'll still have to scrape clean. What I'd really like is a cover for all four windows and the top. It would have to be about 138" long (measured along the roof) to overlap the hood and trunk lid, so it could use magnets there and along the quarter panel (the door panels being non-magnetic). Given several inches of snow followed by freezing rain, I would expect to push snow off and maybe break up some ice before I could peel back the cover. I would want some padding to protect the car in the process. Has anyone found a padded cover that long?
