Putting dynamat/butylmat on door trim plastic or onto the metal work or both?

I am sick of the doorapanels buzzing and ratteling to certain kick and bass sounds while the bass is turned up so I bought a big roll of dynamat knockoff. I already wrapped all the wires/plugs etc in felttape.

Do you reckon I should just put the mat on the door metal or should I put it directly onto the plastic trim? I feel a combination of both might be the best - probably difficult to get everything covered due to the doorpanels and frame being quite heterogenous.

I read that normally only the metal is covered but in the Model 3 its the trim which is ratteling mainly.
