SWEET!! Tony said he was targeting launch this fall...

I thought he was going to do kind of a Tesla to J version of Henry's CAN-SR adapter. A few weeks ago I got my hands on one of those things -- they are a work of ART!!! (I was expecting something nice from pictures and descriptions, but none of that can do it justice). I don't think doing something like that could possibly be commercially viable.

And an extension kinda makes sense, though that may be a prototype.

I think an adapter would accelerate transition of all US EV's to the obviously superior Tesla combination ac/dc standard. This has been discussed at length here.

So same functionality as this but a cheaper and "DIY" solution:

JESLAâ„¢ is THE 40 amp J1772 portable charging solution!

No... what's being shown in the thread is an adapter that allows a Tesla HPWC to be used with a non Tesla car that has a J1772 inlet, such as a Leaf, Volt, etc... Such cars could then take advantage of HPWC's found at hotels and the like.

What you are showing is a modified UMC that allows a J1772 car to use a standard outlet (14-50, 5-15, etc...). No HPWC usage possible with that.
