I have this issue on my brand new P3D+ 455xxx VIN.
Here's the bulletin on the noise: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163736-9999.pdf
So it says a “subtle thunk”. I can see Tesla denying the fix if the thunk isn’t subtle but jarring like it is for everyone. lol
My M3 (Ser#483XXX) makes that exact sound while supercharging. Additionally, its possible to push hard on the rear floor just under the center consol and make a similar noise happen. I talked to the service dept and they said they had never seen that. I asked for it to be noted just in case.
Totally different set up. Only affects Model 3 battery. Also heard this several times while supercharging. My P85D never had this kind of noise (though fans were definitely going much louder).
Has anyone here tried to have these pressure relief tubes replaced as per this bulletin? thanks kbecks13 for that. Here's the bulletin on the noise: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163736-9999.pdf
That’s what others have reported.Yes, they replaced two of mine found to be an issue. Now I only hear a mild thump. Big difference but not completely gone.
