Australian government to replace the current fleet of 92 BMW 5 series diesel and 45 Camry Hybrid with with a mix of BMW iX SUVs (both the 40 and 50 variant)
Other vehicles considered but not chosen included the BMW iX3, Polestar 2, Genesis GV60, Genesis GV70, Kia EV6, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Replacement wil begin shortly and take about 12 months to replace all vehicles. These Govt vehicles are typically on a 3-yr lease.
Big win for BMW given it seems they've only sold 255 iXs in the first four months of this year, so this equates to almost two months of sales.
