Model X: 2021 used - questions about key fob/card and some small defects

Hi everyone,

I already have had a 2020 model Y for a couple years and have had very few issues. Yesterday I finally sprung for a 2021 model x used. I think mine is “pre-refresh” as I have the vertical screen still. I was hoping to pick your brains for some quick issues I’d like to get checked out.

1. I noticed the car didn’t come with key cards. From what I had read online, the car should be compatible with key cards. Is there any way to confirm this? I can purchase some cards online, but I want to make sure I can use them. As usual the specialists at Tesla either don’t answer or just say it’s not compatible without checking.

2. The windshield wiper button on the end of the stock rattles. I can’t find anybody else who has had this issue online (maybe because I don’t know what words to search for). Has anyone had this issue or know of an easy fix?

3. In the Frunk, the tow attachment bolt is just set in there freely. There doesn’t appear to be a clip in spot like in my Y or other teslas I’ve seen. The people at Tesla just told me that’s how it is, but that seems wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Contact your local service center. They will run your VIN and let you know what came on your specific car. They charge $20 for replacement coded key cards. Do not order them online as they need to be linked to your car. Tow bolt us usually kept in a Tesla branded black vinyl bag. If no bag, most carry it in the rear, low, section below the hatch.
Your 2021 may also be the highly updated Raven model. If so, congratulations.

No. Model S and X were behind in technology in key cards until it's caught up in the production year of 2021.

Your car might have the "model" of 2021, but if you look up at the driver's door jam, you can see its actual production year.

It is what it is. It is hard for the previous owner to patch up that non-existing holder.

Tesla is not always correct.

How would I know if it is raven model? The steering wheel is round and the screen is vertical so I assume not?
