Model S subsite and design studio being updated

Word on the street is that Tesla was originally planning to have the Design Studio up by February but they didn't feel the completed rendering was up to par. Tesla may have the new Design Studio up in a month.

I'd hope closer to a week or two than a month. Seems they are updating more images though... There's a new(er) sprite with the performance wheels:

It shows a bit more of the Aero wheel (mockup?) than the older sprite as well:

There was a bit of ambiguity there -- it's clear that people at the event can use the new Design Studio, but I didn't read that necessarily to mean that the Design Studio will be mounted on the website on that day. Just like the Model S range calculator, demo'd at the Model X reveal, is still not available to the public.
:confused:

They now include it under the standard sound system (not sure if it was there before or not though). It doesn't say if the USB ports are the rear USB ports or not.

The 2 ports have always been standard. The tech package was supposed to get us 2 rear USB ports as well.... Perhaps they couldn't find anywhere for them in the console

@AnOutsider - Good catch.

Here's another interesting editorial choice...

Heading: BY THE NUMBERS (column 2), "4 USB ports"
Text: ... equipped with two USB ports ...

Curious.

Dropping the two rear USB ports would be a major fail. As Elon will quickly learn, his boys will need a place to keep their smartphones (==portable gaming systems) charged on long rides.

Maybe it's because they are only power ports, not really USB. The ports are there, but they do not hook into the computer. The front ones access the large screen for loading tunes, etc.
