Hi, I just bought a Model S 2014 with 200k km AND with the BMS_u29 error which limits the charging at about 35% of the battery capacity. The price was great so I took the chance to repair the battery and continue using the car for a long time.
I saw some threads with the same error but did’t found anyone who is still driving the car like that and for how long. Tesla wants of course to change the whole battery for about 18k CAD (about the price I paid for the car) but I’m waiting for an appointment at a local EV shop to try to repair it.
As it‘s our third car (I have a Plaid and a id.4), I’m not in a hurry to repair it so I’ll want to see how long it can run with this error. I’ll do updates in the next weeks to let you know how it works out!
