I realize this is an old thread, but I've heard of at least one other person just recently getting this exemption in Fort Bend county, so it probably varies greatly depending on where in Texas you live.
I have the contact info of another Houston-area lawyer that is willing to work with people wanting to do this, if anyone is interested.
Trying to claim that Tesla is hydrogen powered just seems wrong to me.
I'm with you.
(Unless you're charging it from a fuel cell...)
Yes, that's the argument. You aren't saying that the Tesla is "hydrogen powered", but that it is "hydrogen power capable" and that it could be recharged using electricity derived from a hydrogen cell.
As an example of this possibility, see the "Hydrogen House Project" in New Jersey, which uses solar panels to generate electricity to split water using hydrolysis, then store the resulting hydrogen in tanks until it is actually needed. "The hydrogen can then be burned for cooking and heating similar to natural gas, and can be converted into electricity by way of a hydrogen fuel cell." Hydrogen House Project: The Hydrogen House - Hydrogen House Project
You technically don't have to demonstrate that you possess a hydrogen fuel cell system at all, since the law only talks about vehicle capability.
I know it hasn't been that long, but does anyone have an update on this?
Do you know of an attorney that has been successfully fight for have tax exemptions for Tesla and won?
My financing bank is telling me that they will need to collect the taxes from me, but from reading here, I am supposed to be the one to get the title and pay taxes, etc no?
Thanks
Okay what county are you in and what did you say???????IT WORKED!!!!!!
Wow. So the question is can we get the taxes refunded if we have already paid them?
