I haven't seen any Ingeteam EV chargers in Australia prior to last night. I spotted this going in at the University of Wollongong's Sustainable Building Research Centre at the Innovation Campus in Fairy Meadow.
Looks like they're a Spanish company with a presence in wind power, heavy electrical hardware, railways, and maintenance services. I don't know what they're up to. But considering their Australian office is also on the Innovation Campus, they might be trying to muscle in on some big market. Maybe the new offshore wind project in Wollongong? Battery Storage? Or maybe just EV charging hardware, which we all know is in dire need of healthy competition here.
Either way, it's good marketing to help UoW replace the dud Tritium RT50 ex-ChargePoint CCS1 unit, from the early early days, which finally died a year ago. Especially with a much faster unit.
