Recently, techmeme had this headline.

"Mariella Moon / Engadget:

Imgur plans to delete “old, unused, and inactive content” that's not tied to a user account, starting on May 15, potentially erasing years of internet history — For years, Imgur has made sharing photos and GIFs on the internet as easy as uploading a file — you don't even need an account to use it."

It links to Imgur to ban explicit images and delete uploads not tied to an account | Engadget which mentions "The changes in its Terms of Service will take effect on May 15th."

There's been other press coverage at Hosting site Imgur will remove explicit and anonymous content next month.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. It looks like some folks point to images they've posted on Imgur. I've had to do it at MyNissanLeaf since (IIRC) they don't allow free (non-paid) account to upload images.
