My X only takes 48amps. I had the electrician set the hpwc to the Mac setting (72 amp) when it was installed. Is this costing me more to charge than if it were set to 48? Forgive my ignorance on the subject
We have a 75D and charge it at 40 amps. Our HPWC uses 6/2 Romex (good up to 55 amps) through the wall (no conduit needed) on a 50 amp breaker. Only need 6/2 because a neutral is not used on for the HPWC. They just mark the white wire with red tape on each end to designate it as the other conductor.
