Have You Ever Had to Replace Your UMC Due to Overheating? (research question only)

Hi. Drafting an article on Gen 2 MC.., I know that some UMCs that came with the Model S were replaced due to overheating. Not sure about Model X. ??

The model of car doesn't make any difference at all. They have always used the exact same UMC with the Model S and X. The only difference would come from whether it was the 1st generation or the 2nd generation one. When the Model 3 began shipping in the second half of 2017, it was the first appearance of the 2nd generation one, and then in January 2018, they went ahead and switched over and began including the 2nd generation UMC with the S and X as well.

Never had a problem with Gen 1 @ 40A, even checked several times with a thermal camera.

I'm aware of that. It's just a fact verifying question. I don't want to infer that Some Model X owners also had to have their Gen 1 UMCs swapped out (as some Model S owners did), unless indeed that happened.

used it a lot on MX in last 3 years. Never an issue yet.

No problem for me. I used it heavily for 5 months when I got the car. But I hardly use the UMC anymore since I have a HPWC in the garage.
