Friday AWD & P announcement?

Elon said that they will announce AWD and P models this week. Its a bit late today, which only leaves Friday. Why would they wait until a Friday to make such an announcement? Its not like they have to produce anything or even open up any configurations, just announce some numbers.

Anyone have any idea why they would wait until Friday or even worse, the weekend?

What Elon said was “Tesla will enable orders end of next week for dual motor AWD & performance.”

So if they start taking orders tomorrow or Saturday, that would be right on time.

Wrong time zone. Standard Time and Elon Standard Time (EST) are much different.

There was something else with a similar timeline, and it was Sunday night... forgot what that announcement was

This makes most sense. If they release it now market price would likely drop as people will cry foul with them releasing even more expensive trims further away from the base 35k version. Announcing after market will give people time to process and won't affect stock price much and may even show bump up on Monday with Tesla being able to introduce new options and having healthy production numbers.

Opposite effect imo - higher prices with high demand = more profit. I'll buy on that news.

Elon already said they will take orders at the end of this week. Following through with that shouldn't negatively affect the stock price.
