Coming up to 40K on my MYP and have been noticing the steering has been a bit loose during heavy braking and acceleration. Figured it was a good time to upgrade the notorious Lower Control Arm Bearings, which isn't a matter of "if", but a matter of "when" they will fail usually within 20-30K driving on Model 3, and especially on a heavier platform like the Model Y.

After a surprise visit from @MountainPass while in town during the last Grid Life event, I opted for a set of Mountain Pass Performance Solid Front Lower Control Arm Bearings, and a their Aluminum “Smash Me” Front Skid Plate for good measure. Shortly after installation, it really feels like new again - the steering "wiggle" is gone and wheel feels nice and tight - it feels like again when it was new. These bearings are essential for those wanting a crisp-like feel at the wheel.

MPP's Aluminum Smash Me Plate is a very nice piece, the stock plastic panel was getting beat up and replacement was just about the same cost, making this a real no-brainer. The included Stainless hardware is a really nice touch, as details do matter.

Today, I saw a Tesla M3 that was really lowered (I thought too much so but hey, I have teeth on the front of my car. Everyone's different). I stopped him and we talked. He told me every car he has seen with lowering springs only made the car look like the back end of the car was lower than the front.

He only installs Coilovers on his cars so they can be adjusted so as not to look lower in the back. He told me he actually installed the Coilovers on his M3 himself. I was impressed.

When you install your springs, do they make the car look lower in the rear vs the front and not horizontal?

I wish I could have you do Coilovers but because of my situation, I just don't have the time it takes to have you do the job.

Sounds like nothing other than a strong opinion. Which he's entitled to.

Plenty of springs out there sitting evenly, there are a number of examples in this thread. I prefer the coilover route as the suspension components on the Model 3/Model Y leave a lot to be desired, but there's no hard in running springs only.

You mentioned about 4 hours to install springs only. How many to install Coilovers?
