My E-ZPass would not work when installed to the right of the rear view mirror on the windshield. I moved it to front edge of the glass roof of my Y on the passenger side and it works fine.

I placed my EZ-Pass on the left side of the front cameras housing and never have problem and I placed my ETR407 (Canada) transponder at the lower right corner (passenger side) of the windshield without any issue too.
Never could get it to work on my 2016.5 MS. I ended up with a portable EZ pass and held it out the window (actually through the sunroof opening) and that worked like a charm.
But, on my 2022 MY, attached my SunPass (looks the same as the EZ pass) to the upper windshield just to the right of the rear view mirror, as shown in the manual. works like a charm in Georgia dan Florida. You have it in the right place if the drive can't see it.
I have my transponder stuck to the front middle of the roof glass up against the headliner. I didn’t like seeing it from the outside stuck next to the rear view mirror.
