Do ultrasonics still work for autopilot?

Hey guys, I deliberately got a 2022 plaid because it still had the ultrasonics and I thought it would be better to have that and Tesla vision. Does anyone know if they work for auto pilot or is that just for parking? It seems my car is a little more accurate for parking and I’ve got a little more confidence in the numbers that it displays versus my wife’s model Y

Sonars are traditionally for parking due to its short range.

However, I can still see the Sonars Distance Measurement Color display in Autopilot when there are obstacles on sides such as cars or cement wall center median...

I have seen my model 3 move towards one end of the lane or another when the ultrasonics are reading close. Whether that’s based on the ultrasonic reading or whatever it’s seeing on the camera, I’m not sure

Definitely less commotion in the rain, going near hedges that kind of thing.
