Departure time charge fail with Tesla wall charger

I have a 2023 Model 3 RWD with LFP. My daily charge is 50%. I look 2-3 weeks into the future to see what day I’ll be driving the most and charge to 100% to keep the BMS happy. I use the off peak charging so my battery stays at the lowest SOC for the longest time.

just finished an impromptu trip getting come with a 4% SOC so I know my approach is keeping the BMS accurate.

Little bit OT here, but... IIRC, it used to be that "scheduled departure time" would not only prep the cabin, but also dictate when charging began. It seems that has changed, in that now when I set "scheduled departure time" it doesn't impact charging - car will start charging immediately when plugged in and SOC is below target. Just trying to understand if this changed, when, and why.

You have to also turn on off peak charging with the off peak end time set to your desired departure time.
