Tesla should enable that soon.
About your trade-in question, I traded in a non Tesla car for my MY and initially Carmax appraisal was better (+1K more) but Tesla matched it after I sent a copy of the appraisal to my Tesla Delivery Support Specialist.
Interesting. That might have happened because Alliant CU didn’t support your location and you were pointed to another CU financial institution. That’s just a guess but I think that’s what happened to you.
I think I’ll do Ceramic coat for now since it’s more cost effective than PPF but I haven’t decided or checked anything yet. I might add PPF on the front hood later as an additional protection layer but not sure yet.

you should deff look into ceramic for the red. It really pops. Are you on the Facebook central Texas Tesla group? If not check out Austin detailing for coating

Heads up, you cannot apply PPF over top of ceramic coating. Ceramic coating does not protect against scratches/damage like PPF does. Ceramic coating is basically a permanent wax. Keeps it nice and shiny, lets water bead off, helps with keeping it clean, etc. If you put PPF over top of your ceramic coating, you will just negate all of the coating effects (if the film will even stick at all that is). You can however put PPF on, and then ceramic coating on top of that. Engineering explained has a great video discussing this.
Congrats but sorry you upgraded too early. Today the upgrade is free since the AWD price dropped $3K and that makes the RWD and AWD difference less than $2K. Tesla is upgrading all Early RWD LR to AWD at no cost. Also if you ordered the FSD at $6K, Tesla will honor that price. Today it's $8K.
