Could we have Remote window control

It is raining this afternoon. This morning it was sunny and I left the windows open. Of course I forgot to close them. Now I ran out in the rain to close the windows. Maybe Elon can figure out how to remotely close the windows so I don’t get wet. A small, but helpful suggestion

Agreed. Even better is have the rain sensing program close them automatically. That would require the front camera to be on but Sentry mode does that already.

Wasn't one of Tesla's cold weather mitigations in the "winter firmware update" to roll down the windows by a few mm after closing the door to prevent them from freezing to the frame?

There is an NHTSA regulation that forbids closing power windows from more than 6m away from the vehicle for safety reasons.

Not in the US. I only know this because we had Toyota models that had this feature available in the Canadian versions but it was disabled in the US versions.

I agree. If a thief's arm gets pinched I would be liable for the injury.

Totally not proven. The windows all lower when the door is opened and raise when the door is closed. Therefore they are hooked up to a controller somewhere. If that controller is the car (vs local controller) then their certainly is a possibility.

Doesn’t the window mechanism have an “anti-pinch” feature where they immediately retract if resistance is encountered such as an arm, finger, etc. in the path of the window?

The cameras and/or ultrasonic sensors can tell if someone is nearby for sentry mode. That could enable/disable the safety feature.

I understand that early Model S firmware had this feature and it was removed. The call is not in the API.

They must have had a reason.
