Can the American power grid sustain EV adoption?

EVs can be the solution, as they are essentially large storage batteries that can charge when there is excess electricity and feed it back to the grid when there is a shortage. Can prevent brown outs and rolling blackouts. Even click in if there is a momentairy loss of power (like in Texas)

Essentially the same thing as a Utility placing a large battery storage farm near their generators.

About the same thing as hooking up PowerWalls to the house and the grid. Power flows in the direction it is needed.

EVs can charge when electricity is abundant and be used for transportation when it is in short supply.

Agreed, although I don't think that feeding it into the grid is nearly as big a deal as people make it out to be. The ability to dynamic alter charge rate on thousands of chargers at once is going to have just as big an impact on the ability to maintain grid stability. Works with every EV now (no need to get a specific V2G compatible model or pay big money for V2G units in homes, etc)
