Brake light inside rear of car

Is it normal to see a red light on the rear of the hatch when braking inside the car? E.g. when I look in the rear view mirror at night I can see a red light cast on the interior of the rear hatch?

Anyone? Hardly drive at night and drove last night and saw this for the first time. Red light projected across the rear hatch you can very clearly see when looking in rear view mirror while driving.

Go look at the back of the car - should see left and right brake lights and a CHMSL - you're probably;u seeing bleed light from the CHMSL.

The third light is on the rear shelf / rear speaker panel/ so it might be possible to see the glow reflected on from the rear glass

It probably is your CHMSL. I've noticed this in other cars. Regardless of how well it's sealed against the glass, you'll get a little reflection from the glass itself. But check and see if it's tight against the rear hatch glass.
