Black screen stuck!

Hey guys happy new year, my 2020 model 3 performance has the black screen. I did the soft reset and hard reset and still nothing. Tesla quoted me 2600$ but I’ve seen them go for 300-500$ on eBay. I’d like to just change out but scared that the mcu won’t read and according to Tesla it needs a firmware upgrade and takes up to 6 hours. Just wondering if anyone interchanged parts without needing the programmed aspect of it? Thanks

Did you check if you have any error messages in the service mode? That might tell what is actually broken. It's hard to say if it's the MCU, the screen, a cable etc... You should be able to push a firmware reinstall through service mode too. However, it's possible that an MCU update requires more, I have never done that.
