Bird's Eye View? Model 3 SR

Hey everyone.

We just received our new Model 3 SR and I was wondering if there is a bird's eye view? I can only seem to find the backup camera, side back cams and dash cam. I think there are supposed to be 8 camera total?

Any help would be great! Thank you.

Unfortunately not yet! I believe I saw Elon acknowledge the gap in a tweet and promised to add this feature, but no timeline. You're right that the hardware has been in place for a long time.

No bird's eye and I don't think there will be. Elon was talking about using the system and doing something like bird's eye cameras but using the car's graphics like how it currently represents the world now.

The HW is definitely not in place to do this- you can tell by looking at where the cameras physically are versus vehicle that offer this feature.

For example all the front-facing cameras are mounted on the windshield- they can't see below the hood-line to see what is low and in front of you.

They could pseudo-stich-together a sort of guess based on previous frames as you approach from the front- but for situations like leaving a parking spot where you've been sitting for a while the car would have no way to "see" around it low and close in various spots.
