Battery cooling fan running constantly for the last 24 hours / buzzing loud sound

The coolant pumps run all the time when the car is awake. Fans will run if necessary for the cooling to perform as required. Nothing runs when the car is asleep. The car should normally fall asleep after some variable amount of time if you leave it alone, between 1 minute and 1 hour or more depending on what the car has to do (maybe top up the low voltage battery, maybe dry the AC system to prevent mildew, etc).
The car is obviously awake while it is charging, and will stay awake forever if sentry is on.
Opening the mobile app wakes the car, or prevents it from sleeping for a little while.

EDIT: there are other threads about some people having a problem where their car never falls asleep anymore. I don't think it's widespread but there are a few reports. I do not have this problem, but thought it would be good to let you know.
