Adding tow hitch to 7-seat order

Has anyone had any luck adding the hitch option to a 7-seat order?

Chat told me to wait until closer to production but I’d rather do it now since current pricing is the same as when I ordered on day 1 (actually $10 less). They gave me a contact for a delivery specialist but he doesn’t respond to emails.

Yup. Someone at Tesla added a note to my reservation number to add the tow hitch, and it took a couple weeks for it to actually update on the reservation page and trigger an email "Confirming your Model Y update" Price drop

Interesting. I tried to add tow hitch earlier in spring and was told it would impact the over all cost of my car. I opted not to. I am waiting for my 7 seat Y. I went ahead and added FSD before July 1 because at the time I reserved my Y the cost of FSD was 6k. I was able to lock 6k in now. However, my price of the car doesnt reflect the recent 3k drop in price.

It is my understanding if i update the price in the car I will lose the 6K cost in FSD and i will lose the savings on the wheels since when i reserved it was the older upgraded rims, this is only a 500 savings for me but yeah.... If i were to go through with everything as i know it the 3k savings would end up being only 500 for me. Not sure if its worth it. I only add all this to the discussion to see if anyone has had a different experience with the price adjustments.

I just quickly stopped by a nearby Tesla store, and they were able to add a comment to my reservation number. I didn't get any feedback for weeks until the "update" email, but looks like someone is processing these requests. I guess online chat might be able to annotate your reservation too.

Update from OP: Tesla chat just made the order change for me even though they wouldn't last time. I guess it never hurts to ask twice.

$990 net increase with tow hitch.
