2016 UMC with 2023 Model Y?

I have a 2016 UMC and it will not seat fulling in our 2023 Model Y.

It seems like Tesla intentionally broke compatibility with older mobile charging connectors (in 2018?).

Can any of you confirm this and do you know why they would not want an older UMC to be used with a newer vehicle?

No, they didnt do that.

The most common cause of something like this is the plastic sheathing on one of the pins being stuck in the charging wand. when this happens, if you use the same mobile connector with the same car, you would never really notice it, it just wouldnt work for other cars.

CLOSELY inspect the mobile adapter to make sure there is nothing extra in there, like a round plastic sheath.

Brand new Model Y won't accept Tesla Wall Connector?

I just received delivery today of a brand new Model Y (LR). I now find that I am unable to insert my Telsa Wall Connector into the car's charging port. When inserting the connector into the car's charging port, it gets most of the way in, I hear a click and see the port's indicator change...
