Not exactly. Tesla’s 5 kWh top buffer provided by the software lock will make life easier on the battery. It should live longer than the first S70 that Tesla sold, which were “true 70 kWh” packs, with no software lock or top buffer.

Also, the owner has the option to pay Tesla to unlock the full 75 kWh capacity, if they wish.

Both Krash and GSP are correct. This car is actually a 75kw that is software locked to be a 70kw. One could pay Tesla to unlock the last 5kw and make it a 75.
