Hello Tesla Fam, 2020 M3P not charging with Gen2 MC with 14-50 adapter, Charge Current is 5A Max. App reads 0mi/hr +0mi 0/0A 240V. Gen 2 MC is streaming green light and charge port on M3P is flashing green. Two 50A breakers in my panel routed to outdoor outlet. Using 10ft extension cord to help reach my car. Any suggestions on why I’m not able to charge at 32A at my house?

Lately there seems to be a rash of problems with mobile connectors using the Tesla 14-50 NEMA adapter. My suggestion would be to see if you can plug your setup (minus extension cord) into somebody else's known working 14-50 outlet and see what happens. Alternatively, you can try going to your local Tesla Service Center and see if they have a 14-50R and test your equipment. If it also does the same, swap out the NEMA 14-50 adapter with one that is known to be good and try again.

You can try disconnecting the NEMA 14-50 adapter and re-insert it (hard) into the mobile connector and then try charging. It might just be a bad connection with the adapter.

Another possible troubleshooting item, but it would cost some money, would be to get your hands on a 14-50P to 14-30R adapter cord and use a 14-30 NEMA adapter with your mobile connector. What I'm suggesting is to not use your existing 14-50 NEMA adapter with your mobile connector and see if the problem goes away, If it does, then your 14-50 adapter is the problem. If it turns out you still can't charge, then it could be your mobile connector.

I just registered to say "Thanks" for this topic. I got my mobile charger 12 days ago and it worked on 125v but not on 240V with the same symptoms: the charger is sequential green lights, the car thinks it is charging at 5A MAX and the display shows "0/0A" and 24+ hours remaining.

I requested a service appointment 12 days ago and never got a response. I called my local service center and was put on eternal hold. I emailed my sales dude and he contacted charger support who told me I have no warranty in the adapter, but if it came broken I could return it, or I could make an appoint ment with service. The runaround accomplishes the complete circle. 🤣

So I took a friend's advice and just showed up at service in a different town and long story a little shorter, it wound up with "you're all set it's charging, replaced the adapter cord just like you said" and "I've never seen THAT before !"

So I brought it home and can finally charge on 240v so thank you, thank you thank you.

Ron.
