£6000 Scrappage Scheme for EV's

The UK government is set to introduce a new scrappage scheme offering drivers discounts of up to £6000 to switch from petrol and diesel to electric or hybrid cars, according to reports.

The new scrappage scheme was first reported by the Telegraph, with an announcement set to be made on 6 July, shortly after the third phase of lockdown easing is due to come into effect

Germany are spending 2.5 billion euros on charging infrastructure. UK gov has announced they’re spending £5 million and you can bet most of that is in London. It’s just a joke to them.

Before anyone gets too excited the FT just said this scheme was unlikely:

"But four senior officials told the FT that while the idea had been considered inside the Treasury there was no guarantee it would happen. “It was being considered at one point, in the same way Labour did something similar in the early 2000s, but at the moment it is very unlikely,” said one."
