Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I bought it in mid-April. Thanks for letting me know that’s possibly an option! I’ll look back at your posts for more info! Thanks, Ben

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

This is insanely unethical and shady.. I bought a used CPO 2015 85D few months back. At the time my rated at 100% was around 265, now after this update, I'm at 236 or so.. that's almost 30 miles lost.

AC auto mode fan power logic?

As it's not as hot anymore the problem seems to have fixed itself. I think for some reason the fan has a max fan setting or something so when it's on auto.. so example would be if it's like 95+ outside, car temp is 105, I set it to 73, it would only turn the fan say at 5, and with that...

AC auto mode fan power logic?

Thanks Jas. I'm starting to think that my internal temp gauge could be off some how by a few degrees. If I turned auto to 65 then it would start blasting more and get it to what I think is closer to 73ish.
  5. D

AC auto mode fan power logic?

I'm not sure if my AC is not working correctly or maybe it's just the weird logic of how the auto mode works, but I've been noticing that when my car is really hot, like 85+, and my auto temp is set to 73, the AC fan on auto mode is like 4-5, with only the front air direction selected, thus...

    New 75D faster than 85D?

Just did a video of my 85D 0-60 and at 75% charge it was right around 4 seconds, so my car seems normal. Just that the 75D felt faster off the line.
  7. D

    New 75D faster than 85D?

That was my first thought too, but nope. Standard mode on both. Not battery % either as the loaner 75 was at 50% when I tested it.
  8. D

    New 75D faster than 85D?

Ah, that makes perfect sense. I did feel that the 75 wasn’t as fast from 60 onward compared to the 85. I.e. 85 has more to give. So assuming both 0-60 is equal at 4.2, the 75 prob just has a faster 0-30 or so to give that harder initial punch but 85 catches up in the 30-60 or something like that.
  9. D

    New 75D faster than 85D?

So I took my 2015 85D to service for squeaking roof and wind noise last week, and they gave me a 75D with 10k miles on it as loaner for a about a week. Almost immediately I felt that the acceleration was just a lot more immediate and “violent” than my 85. Didn’t get to do any 0-60 tests with...

Is this gen 1 or gen 2 seats?

After a Vegas road trip 350+ miles each way I can report that the gen 1.5 seats were largely okay. No issues with the side or back but my butt with relatively low natural cushioning def got sore an hour in and had to shift a bit every now and then. A seat cushion would prob fix a lot of that...

Would you own a Tesla without the tech?

Yes for me. EV drive train, price/performance, exterior appeal, cargo capacity, supercharger infrastructure/free supercharging, makes it still worth it for me. But without AP, it’s only by a slight margin for what we’re giving up in the interior polish/luxury department.

Alternatives to a used Model S?

Interesting.. I wonder if they went back to that due to all the complaints.
  13. D

Alternatives to a used Model S?

When did you order yours? I ordered mine (placed the $2,500 down) 3/31/19, and my order agreement clearly states that is is non-refundable:

Alternatives to a used Model S?

Was pretty much in your exact shoes 2 months ago. Also loved the styling of the Panamera - Model S sporty sleek large sedan look. Also needed large cargo space, under $50k budget all in after all taxes and fees. After much research, I just didn't think there was anything that was anywhere...

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

For those wanting to try to remove that end plate first, here’s the piece I’m taking about. Makes putting it in 100x easier. Note that you’ll prob never be able to get it in as tight as it was if you were to force it down without remove it it.

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

Alright, it’s finally in! What happened was that the cubby was indeed unclipped. Once I got it back in, everything fit much better. I did remove the end plastic piece that was held by 4 small screws and washers in the process and it made fitting it a lot easier. After fitting it, I put...

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

Ah.. now I think the cubbie drawer popped out partially.. if you look at the third picture there is a gap between the cubbie bottom and the edge.. I must have knocked it loose when I forcing the console in. It's even worst on the driver side. Saw it yesterday but had a hard time trying to pop...

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

Do you have the yacht deck underneath? Mine has the glossy deck that has these lines that protrude a bit, I imagine without those, the unit would sit just right and be flush with the outlets

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

I do think that has something to do with it, I did try to shift it back some but it doesn’t seem like it can go back any further. Will try again tonight.

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

I’m starting to wonder if the person with the yacht floor that got it in place didn’t have a shelf under the screen.. I don’t see how I can fit this without modification to the side panels which I might have to do..

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

Here some pictures, it’s hard to capture in that tight space. Here’s the center unit in place. Sitting on top of he yacht floor, which I did not remove as I read somewhere that it should not be a problem. There is a slight gap between the outlets and the unit but I couldn’t get the unit to...

    Model S console from Taptes

How did you manage to pop the side panels in? Seems impossible to get it in under between the bottom shelf and top of console!
  23. D

    Taptes Center Console Delivered Today

Just got it.. and holy *sugar* it is impossible to install. This this is NOT meant for model S with the drawer space under the screen. It is obvious that the videos they show are for ones without that drawer space under the screen. I manage to get the console past the cup holders with slight...

Why are CPOs in such bad shape?

Yep, they don't sell CPOs, they sell Used cars as is now. And yes, the car will look like that, and probably worst with things not pictured when you actually see it in person.

What's the best insurance alternative to State Farm for a Model S

Yeah, makes sense, just seems like the difference is startling. I use it for commute, about 10k miles a year.

What's the best insurance alternative to State Farm for a Model S

Does insurance rate vary wildly from state to state? I’m getting quoted nothing under $2,200 a year while some of you guys seem like it’s half that. I’m in Souther California, 34 yr, no at faults. Tried AAA ($4k!!), geico/progressive/mercury all around $2.2-2.6k. 2015 85D

    Remote S “estimated range”?

I think that formula only works if I have a S100? I have a 85D so I'm doing: 85,000wh x % of battery / avg. wh/mi. So Right now I'm at 86% and my average wh/mi is 365 so I did 85 x .86 /365 which gets me 200 miles, sounds right. However, my estimated says 166 mi and rated is 227 mi. Rated...

    Remote S “estimated range”?

Anyone know how the remote s estimated range is calculated? It’s much lower than the rated range for me. I think in reality I’m somewhere between estimates and rated.

Just installed as well. Geo mirror is nice for me since I like to fold my mirrors in before getting into my garage. Full screen Atari is cool, even though I’ll never play it haha.

Instead of a recap, I'm going to "live blog" my CPO experience here and will update as things happen

I took a good flashlight with me to the center and took my time, despite the sales person "gently" pushing me along. It's been 2 weeks since I accepted delivery and I haven't noticed anything cosmetically wrong that I didn't on the day of delivery. I'm very curious to see how the...

Instead of a recap, I'm going to "live blog" my CPO experience here and will update as things happen

I would caution against having them delivering to your home for 1 big reason.. During my day of delivery there were 6-7 things that were not shown in the pictures that I needed them to fix before I can accept delivery. At their center, maybe not all centers, but the one in Costa Mesa...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

Yeah, as a Finance/Accounting professional, that $700M loss did make me worry a bit as to the future of the company.. It's an odd feeling that the future sustainability of my vehicle may hinge on start-up-esque ambitions (like robo-taxi fleet to generate revenue). That is the dice I'm rolling...

The agony of deciding on a CPO

The P85 doesn't come with AP1? if not, that's a big one. I'm loving TACC on freeway in any level of traffic. it's just makes the drive so much more enjoyable. Makes it a completely different car to me. At the same time, 20k miles difference is also a big factor.. Depends on your view, but...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

Fair points, and that would be the just and righteous thing to do., but the problem for the average Tesla used consumer such as myself, is that we have limited funds and we want the best we can get for those dollars. I had to replace my old car, and there really is nothing else that comes...
  37. D

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

True, that does seem a lot more than usual cars. Guess that’s the downside of Tesla being half a tech company and half a car company.. that tech part evolves fast...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

Unfortunately I would have to say the valuation makes sense based on what they are they selling it for. There’s a 2016 90D with 50k miles on their used site right now for $45k. Probably doesn’t have all the options you do, but if you figure in your in higher mileage and the Tesla markup they...

Yep, no where does it mention that it is refundable anymore. It actually specifically says it is non-refundable.

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

That's pretty much how I feel. It's hard to remember how crappy the process was every morning when I get in my car and drive to work haha..
  41. D

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

I'm staying away from checking prices now just to avoid the instant buyer's remorse factor haha.. I have no doubt that in a year, I could probably get a P85D, same mileage same condition, for what I paid for my 85D now, or less! Yeah, I don't think they offer good trade-in values.. not sure on...
  42. D

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

It does seem like a very deliberate change in Tesla's philosophy for their used inventory when they switched from CPO to Used. Instead of spending their time/money on getting that used vehicle to a high standard condition and charge higher prices for it, they sell it pretty much "as is" with...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

Oh wow, nope, mine ends right after the cancellation part that I posted.. That would have been nice and I would have been able to switch my down by that time.
  44. D

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

If I had to give a low-hanging-fruit advice to Tesla for their used program, it would be to spend more than 2 minutes taking pictures. Honestly, it's really bad when I can take 10x better pictures in 5 minutes of all the damages and imperfections of the car with my phone.. This would honestly...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

Agreed. There's definitely a bad-taste-in-mouth factor with this process for me. I think if it had gone slightly differently I could have been much angrier about the process (e.g. if I really cared about the deep scratches on the inside of the lift gate, or if the original leather seats did...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

Maybe the wording of the down/deposit was different in the past when it was CPO vs now it's called "used", but here's the excerpt from my order agreement: They make it very clear that the $2,500 is to make up for their cost to get this vehicle ready for you and it is non-refundable. There is...

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

    CPO/Used Lessons Learned

I ordered/made the down payment on 3/31 and picked up on 4/12. That was from San Diego to Costa Mesa delivery center, about 70 miles; however, I probably did create a 2-3 day delay since I was trying to switch my down to another used vehicle and that caused some confusion between the sales rep...
