Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I had a pretty crappy purchase process with Tesla, but honestly, the car makes up for it.
What about a a Genesis G70 3.3T or G80 3.3T. These are about $44k and $56k fully loaded, and there's not a lot of discounts on them now--I expect that to change towards the end of 2019. Great looking...
I picked up a used MS85D. The chrome trim on the front and rear passenger side doors is extremely misaligned. We took it into a service center to get a key fob repaired (one of the two I got was non-functioning) and also asked them to fix the alignment. From what I've seen on the boards, it's a...
It looks like a one-person operation processing the auto loans. They won't send the check to Tesla. They'll send it to you. You have to pay for overnight shipping if you want it delivered quickly. Make sure you have a Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement from Tesla with the name of CCFCU on the...
By law, credit unions must require a membership. If they were to do this, they would never Rate Beat anybody's offer from a CU. Per my personal experience a week ago, they will do that. Remind them that this is not in their terms and conditions and demand they honor their Rate Beat offer.
It's nationwide. Just pay $20 to join the North Carolina Consumers Council, join the credit union ($5), and fill out the credit app. Assuming you have 730+ credit and are employed, you should be approved.
The sound and the suspension didn't seem like a big deal to me. I have never noticed the difference between the speakers in the crapmobile I drove as a teenager versus the Bose or other brand name sound systems, so I doubt I'll really notice the "high-fidelity" sound. The thing everybody says...
Join American Consumer Council, use that for Andrews Federal Credit Union, get a 36 month 2.14% rate, Rate Beat it with Lightstream to 2.04%. That's about as close as you'll get. With interest rates as high as they are, this isn't surprising.
Let's say you finance $50k at 3% at 60 months. You pay $3906 in interest. Let's also say your bank gives you 2.2% during those 60 months, compounded monthly. You will $5,808 in interest on that money, putting you $1900 ahead.
However, that's too optimistic a view. Your interest will be taxed...
Had a good result with Lightstream it looks like. I asked for a Rate Beat on a 3%, 84 month loan. They denied it for some ticky-tack reason. I sent them a scathing email and made a few phone calls yesterday, and today, I got approved at a tenth of a point less for the same loan length, but for...
Thanks, hopefully I can figure it out when I actually have the vehicle.
No, it looks nice, but it wouldn't work. It has to be locked, and it cannot be a console for legal reasons (unless I want to put a lockable case inside the console, which could be an option but it doesn't look like a case...
You're right in that the handgun cannot have a loaded magazine unless you have a CCW. However, a loaded mag can be in the same container so long as it is not in the magwell of the pistol (in California; may differ elsewhere). Some say the magazine cannot be in the same container. They are...
It depends. I could afford to pay cash for my Model S several times over, but I'm getting a 2.99% loan rate, and my bank currently pays me 2.25% on savings, so effectively, I'm paying 0.74% a year to pay in installments rather than all up front. 0.74% a year for the flexibility and cash on hand...

Apply now. The process is quite slow. You'll need to submit a paper membership application and overnight it to them. You should fill out a paper loan app with it.
Tesla's policy says: "We are continually expanding our global network of Supercharger stations to enable personal long distance travel and to provide a charging solution for those without immediate access to home or workplace charging"
Anybody know anything about this company? They're not a well-known name, although they claim to be backed by an A- rated carrier. Anyway, to get the 4y/50k warranty that comes with used Teslas, you're paying close to 4.5k.
Re: buying from a dealer, I don't see any good deals coming from...

That's a good point although my guess is the vast majority of California used teslas get sold and registered by Californians.
It's sleazy because Tesla is essentially misleading people about the price, but it's usually a difference of less than a thousand bucks. That's not necessarily a make...
I am about to buy a used Tesla in California from Tesla.
California has a tool where you can figure out fees associated with a used vehicle: Vehicle Registration Fee Calculator
Keying in every VIN I've tried, many vehicles aren't registered for the current year (in most cases, it's 4-6 months...
